Update from School Nurses
Dear LHS Community,
Happy New Year! We hope that you all had some time to relax and regroup over the break.
Just a few reminders and updates from the School Health Services Team.
Attached is the COVID Fact Sheet and symptom checklist. PLEASE, keep your child home if they present with any of these symptoms, and do not assume they are allergies, common cold, etc. Everything should be considered COVID unless proven otherwise.
Students should continue to adhere to safety mitigations; mask-wearing, hand hygiene, and social distancing. Students who carpool and do not live in the same household should wear masks while in the vehicle, windows open.
The Massachusetts Travel Order has changed. If your family traveled out of state over the break, please notify the school nurse with dates of travel and provide "proof of a negative test result for COVID-19 from a test administered on a sample taken no longer than 72 hours before your arrival in Massachusetts. You may obtain a test at your own expense after your arrival in Massachusetts, but you MUST quarantine until you obtain a negative result. If you choose not to get tested, you must quarantine for 10 full days from your date of arrival in Massachusetts." Please click on the link for full details on the travel order. https://www.mass.gov/info-details/covid-19-travel-order
Also, please let your child’s school nurse know if they were exposed or are considered a close contact of a positive COVID case over the break. Per our Local BOH, the district will not be adopting the updated quarantine guidelines put out on 12/7/20, but instead, will be adhering to the stricter guidelines from 11/18/20, which are also attached. If they have been exposed this may affect their return to the school buildings under the hybrid model. Please reach out to your school nurse and let us know if you have concerns so we can properly advise you, per district and MDPH protocols.
We look forward to seeing everyone soon and thank you for your continued support and efforts in controlling the spread of this virus in our school community.
