Positive Referral Winner
Congratulations to Caleb Medina for winning this semester’s Positive Referral Drawing! Caleb was referred by Ms. Pat Scott, CHS Math Teacher, for showing great character. Over 125 students earned positive referrals this semester and had their names in the drawing for a Chromebook.

Sydney Hess, CHS Student Body President, met with District 9 Representative Kyrsten Sinema last week. They discussed important issues, and Congresswoman Sinema gave useful advice to the graduating senior.

CHS Wrestlers are performing great this spring! Congrats to Jason Holmes for taking third in the FILA World Trials and to Thomas Bigelow for winning the Freestyle State Championship!
PATRIOT ART CONTEST
Lanni Le won first place in the Patriot Art Contest (Rest in Peace), and Hannah Earll won second place (Remembrance of Things). The students’ paintings will now compete in the State Patriot Art Contest. Their AP Studio Art teacher is Ms. Jennifer Knoll.
FRENCH COMPETITION
The National French Contest/Le Grand Concours is an annual competition sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of French (AATF). Students of French in grades 1-12, in all 50 states, take a written test and compete against students with similar educational backgrounds for prizes.

CULINARY ARTS FUN
Mrs. Mayberry’s Culinary 3 students read to our Little Wolves regularly throughout the year and provided them treats to go along with their stories. During their final visit this school year, CHS students brought the Littlest Wolves into the kitchen and made soft pretzels together and sang songs. What a blast!
CHOIR CONCERT
The CHS Choirs, under the direction of Ms. Lori Lyford, performed their final concert of the year last week in front of a packed CCA house. The Women’s Choir, Advanced Women’s Choir, Treblemakers, Men’s Choir, Chamber Choir and Chorale each performed a few numbers, and the combined choirs sang together. The choirs kicked off the concert in the dark with a moving performance from the balconies. Well done!
ENGINEERING BOAT RACES
Honors Intro to Engineering classes, taught by Mrs. Carmen Shugert, competed in the Cardboard Boat Project at the CHS pool last week. Students designed, created and raced their boats. First place went to the boat with the fastest time, and judges also critiqued the teams for most creative boat design, best looking boat, and best dressed group. Congratulations to the team with the fastest time: Daniel Darland, Max Schippe, Keegan Murphy, and Braiden Solomon.
CHS THEATER
The CHS Theater Department presented Senior Recitals last week. The students performed three great pieces: The Most Massive Woman Wins, To Date or Not to Date, and Cave Dream. Congratulations, Seniors, on a terrific year and final show!
CHS Theatre's Phoni Tonies were held last week at Skateland Chandler. Awards voted on by theatre students: Best Actor - Joaquin Lara; Best Actress - Katja Smeltzer, Faith Sterling; Best Male Technician - Kevin Schodt, Best Female Technician - Alexa Marron; Most Improved - Jarod Shoot. Award given by Ms. Likes: Most Valuable Player - David Westlake, Andrew Hopson.
MEDICAL PROFESSIONS “PINNING”
Medical Professions is a two-year program at CHS. Upon successful completion of the program, students are eligible to test for the certified nursing assistant exam. After passing the exam, they can work as a CNA while continuing their education in the medical field. 2016-17 Seniors: Leasures Portraits will NOT be doing our 2016-17 Senior Photos. The photography company has not yet been decided. When they are selected, the company should contact you during the summer.

Forte International Exchange is looking for families for the 2016~2017 school year and have students available from all over the globe. This is an excellent opportunity to exchange culture, expand your family's horizons, and help make another student's (American) dream come true! CHS WOLF DAYS - SAVE THE DATE
The purpose of WOLF Days is to distribute 2016-17 schedules, take student I.D. pictures, and pay for any fees. Please keep these dates in mind when scheduling vacations. WOLF Days takes place in the CHS Media Center.
Seniors - July 13th - 8:00 AM-3:00 PM
Juniors - July 14th - 8:00 AM-3:00 PM
Sophomores - July 15th - 8:00 AM-3:00 PM
Freshmen - July 18th - 11:30 AM-6:00 PM
Please allow 1-2 hours out of your day to complete the check-in process; we appreciate your patience. All students should report to the Media Center. You are urged to attend on the days specified; parking is available in the student drop off lot. This is located off of California St. north of Chandler Blvd. There is a signal light at California and Chandler Blvd.
What to bring to WOLF Days:
- Cash, check, or credit card (American Express is not accepted) to pay for class fees and any past debt/lost textbooks owed to the Bookstore
