We're celebrating our Dolphin Staff every day this week. Look for surprises in your boxes on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Our PTO has partnered with Jamie Garcia to provide lunch on Tuesday for everyone. His food truck will be set up in the admin parking lot. On Friday, we'll have a large salad bar set up in the front office for you to enjoy at lunch time. Finally, relax in jeans all week with a college or school shirt.

Thursday, May 12--Rising 6th Grade Parent Orientation at 4:00 and 6:00 pm. 6th grade teachers, encore and Spanish teachers will need to attend

Thursday, May 12--Fuller's Music instrument fitting sessions at 3:30 and 7:00 pm in the cafeteria for rising 6th graders who plan to take orchestra or band.

Friday, May 13--Rising 9th graders visit JHS

Chess Team Takes 2nd Place in District Competition

Congratulations to Ms. Ronan and the NWPMS Chess Team for earning 2nd Place in last Tuesday's OCS Chess Competition for Middle Schools.

Strategic Plan Spring Review

At Wednesday's Strategic Planning Team Meeting, each grade level and encore were given one of the four goals to review. The task: Review each activity for the assigned goal and determine if the activity is Complete, In Progress or Not Started. Ask your SPT representative for details.

Goal 1-Grade 6, Spanish and Chambless

Goal 2-Grade 7

Goal 3-Grade 8, Rowntree and Tobin

Goal 4-Encore, Sherman


Also, it's time to review the Student Handbook and the SPT representatives were instructed to facilitate a discussion of the school policies. The policies/rules must be agreed upon to ensure consistency in enforcing the policies in 2016-17.

MIlitary Connected Forms

Continue to encourage students to return the Military Connected Forms. Copies are in the front office. All forms should be returned to Mrs. Horne to input the information into PowerSchool.

BryteByte Spring Survey--The BryteByte survey gathers information from staff, students and parents about technology use and integration in the educational setting. Due to the use of 1:1 technology in the seventh and eighth grade, teachers should send the parent link via email to parents of seventh and eighth graders requesting their input on the technology survey. All seventh and eighth grade students should also take the survey. Deadline is May 2.

2016-2017 OCS Employee Transfers

Personnel interested in transferring to another Onslow County School should review the attached form. The window to pursue a transfer opens on April 15 and closes on July 11, 2016. The closing date for transfers is firm with OCS Human Resources.

Rising 6th Graders Visit NWPMS

Rising 6th graders will visit NWPMS. Mrs. Hoffman will send out the agenda. The encore schedule for 7th and 8th grade will be altered due to this event.

8th Graders Visit JHS

Friday, May 13th, 8:45-11am

8th graders will visit JHS for their Freshman Academy Orientation and Campus tour.
