Center Community Chat

October 10, 2021

Dear Center Families,

We hope everyone enjoyed the extra day off this weekend.

It was a wonderful week at Center. A special thank you to our parent volunteers who made the ice cream social such a huge success! We had over 600 participants throughout the evening. Thank you to all who organized, set up, contributed to baskets, scooped ice cream, sold tickets and those who came to share in the fun and sense of community. Thank you to all of the staff members who assisted as well. These events remind us of what a strong community we have. We look forward to our next community event, Trunk or Treat, in just a few weeks.

Scholarships for Picture Packages

Please reach out to Ms. Lallas if you would like financial assistance with a picture package for your student,

School Council

Thank you to Mark Vitt and Rebecca Neumeier for their years of service on this committee. They are stepping down this year and we have two openings on our school council. Meetings are held from 4-5PM one afternoon a month. We focus on our school improvement goals and discuss happenings in the district and at Center. Please email Dianna at if you are interested in applying for this position. If there are more than two interested candidates we will hold an election.

Test and Stay

If you have not already done so, please consider signing up for the Test and Stay program. This allows students to remain at school when they have been identified as a close contact at school. You complete the initial form below and are then connected to a state form for test and stay. Your student is only eligible for test and stay if you sign up prior to your student being identified as a close contact. The link is below.

Opt Into the Center Directory

The CSPTO publishes the annual Center Directory to facilitate getting in touch with one another. Participation is optional, but if you would like to be included please be sure to fill out this form.

Resources and Information

Student Consent Form: Weekly COVID-19 Pool Testing and/or Test and Stay Protocol

Parents are encouraged to provide consent for their child to participate in weekly COVID-19 pooltesting and the Test and Stay protocol. Pool testing and the Test and Stay protocol are key mitigation strategies as we work to provide a healthy and safe learning environment for students and staff in the Chelmsford Public Schools. You may consent for your child to participate in either or both programs.

If a parent elects not to have their child participate in the Test and Stay Program, the child must follow the traditional COVID-19 test and quarantine protocols if identified as a close contact to a COVID-19 positive case. Pool testing is strongly encouraged and recommended for unvaccinated individuals. Participation in the Test and Stay Program can significantly limit the amount of time your student will miss school if they are identified as a close contact. Please complete a separate form for each child that attends Chelmsford Public Schools.

A signed consent is required for both the Pool Testing and Test and Stay Programs. If a parent would like their child to participate in only 1 program (Pool Testing OR Test and Stay), please select and designate only 1 option from the consent form below. Chelmsford Public Schools are not currently offering symptomatic testing. The symptomatic testing option is included in this consent link, however, is not available in our district.
