From the Principal's Desk
Greetings CLRES Team!
I hope you had a good weekend and are ready for a great week!
Thank you for your participation on Friday during our systemic PD. I hope during your reflection you are beginning to think about ways to engage our newcomers. Within the curriculum, there are suggestions for supporting and engaging English language learners. Here is an article that provides 6 strategies for teaching English language learners (which can be applied to all learners). https://www.edutopia.org/article/6-essential-strategies-teaching-english-language-learners.
Wednesday, school is closed for staff and students.
Let's make it a great week on purpose.

Curriculum and Pacing
To reach our goals, we must be intentional about our instructional approaches and we must maximize our instructional time. As you are planning, put the names to the data. Who specifically are you meeting with in small groups and what specifically are you working on? We will not meet our goals by accident. We have to be deliberate and that comes with planning.
Think About
How are you addressing pacing?
How are you monitoring student growth?
How are you including students in understanding their data and setting goals?
Anchor Charts
An anchor chart is an artifact of classroom learning. Anchor charts build a culture of literacy in the classroom by making thinking—both the teacher’s and students’—visible. While you are planning, you should identify what anchor chart will be created to support the learning. If you need support in creating anchor charts, the curriculum is the first place to start.
Parent Teacher Conference - October 10
- Staff are required to report to the building.
- Conferences may be held in-person or virtual
- Be sure to capture notes and have parents sign in to the meeting. Here is a form that you may use or you may create one of your own.

Community Schools Needs Assessment
All Community Schools staff, families and community partners are required to take this survey. At your earliest convenience, please take a few minutes and complete this one for our school. Must be completed by October 14th. We are aiming for a 100% completion rate.
