NEW! On-Campus Learners to go TWO Days per week
With San Diego moving into the red tier, we are able to start the two day-a-week schedule beginning Monday, March 22 for our in-person students.
What does this mean for our in-person students?
- Monday/Tuesday Cohort In-Person learners will be on-campus on Mondays and Tuesdays and virtual on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
- Wednesday/Thursday Cohort In-Person learners will be virtual on Mondays and Tuesdays and on-campus on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
- Fridays will be Asynchronous Days for all students.
- Virtual students will follow the same schedule we have now...virtually.
Be sure to remember to wear comfortable exercise clothing for day you have PE, and bring your instrument to your day with your band/orchestra period.
Volunteers Needed
Thank you to the parents who volunteered this past week. Your help was much appreciated.
Violent Incident in Atlanta
Our hearts go out to the families of the victims of the shooting in Atlanta. Mesa Verde is committed to helping every student feel safe. As Dr. Kim Phelps wrote, "We teach our students: if you see something, say something. We as adults can model that action. Together, we can help our Asian American and Pacific Islander neighbors, friends, and colleagues feel safe again. Our differences only make us stronger, and together we can be the change to benefit our entire community. Schools are the cornerstones of communities and can play a powerful role in changing people’s perceptions and processes."
Additionally, here is a helpful guide for parents or families of Asian/Asian American children, available in multiple languages: https://www.williamjames.edu/academics/centers-of-excellence/multicultural-and-global-mental-health/guide-for-parents-of-asian-american-adolescents.cfm

2021-2022 PTSA Board Nominees
Our annual election PTSA Association Meeting, where we hope to elect the board for the upcoming 2021-2022 school year will take place Wednesday, April 7th at 7pm (zoom details forthcoming). PTSA Members, please join us for the meeting and exercise your right to vote!
Without the support of volunteers, we will not be able to have a PTSA next year. As a reminder, PTSA coordinates and/or assists with the following: Reflections Art Program, the Kindness Campaign, Staff Appreciation Week, Welcome Back to School events, Parent Programs, Scholastic Book Fair, Red Ribbon Week, Adopt-a-Family, and much more. Without an Executive Board, we will be forced to disband the PTSA at Mesa Verde.
Do not assume that someone else is volunteering – they are not… we need your help!!
If you have questions about our elections or would like to run for an office, please contact me directly. Note: we are also looking for volunteers to chair our Hospitality and Nominating committees, as well as someone to monitor our PTSA Website https://mvmsptsa.org/
Thank you for your support!
