National Coach's Day! October 6th

We want to spotlight all of our wonderful coaches

  • Send in a picture of you and your coach (Make sure to tell us your name and your coach's name)
  • Tell us why your coach rocks or share a funny, cute or sweet story about your amazing coach!
  • Watch our social media, website, and email for teh stories on October 6th!

NEXT TEST SESSION

The next Test Session will be held Friday, October 13th 3:30-5:30pm and Saturday, October 14th from 6a.m. to 10a.m. and 12-1pm at the Aerodrome Ice Skating Complex. It will be open in the next few days.

Jane Cardnell - VP of Testing

Jane has been a member of the Board for the past five years. She has been serving as the President and VP of Testing for the past four years and has recently assumed solely the VP of Testing position. She has a skater with The Skating Club of Houston, Evie, age 13.

Nena Mirkovic-Ruiz - VP Membership

Nena has been a member of the Board for the past five years. She is our Vice President of Membership. She is responsible for membership requests, transfers, and coordination with USFS. She is an Adult Skater herself and has a 21 year old daughter and 19 year old triplets, 2 of which are figure skaters attending college in Boston (Marissa and Christina), and one playing college hockey in Illinois.

Paula Moore - Treasurer

Paula has been a member of the Board since the club was established. Paula is our Treasurer and keeps all of our finances in compliance. She previously skated on our Adult Theater on Ice Team is currently a test judge for USFS. She has two children, Braden, age 18 who is a competitive diver and recently went to college, and daughter Breslyn, age 13 who is a competitive twirler.

Lisa Hayes - President

Lisa has been a member of the Board for the past five years. She started as the Parent Representative and has been the Secretary for the past three years and recently moved to the role of President. In addition to the duties of President, she is also our Competition Chair and responsible for organizing our annual competition, Houston Invitational. She has two children, Paige, age 16 who figure skates and Chase, age20.

Angela McClendon - Secretary

Angela is our recently assigned Secretary and Parent Representative for our members at Aerodrome Ice Skating Complex. She has been an active volunteer at Aerodrome for several years and has served on the board for the past year. She has two children, and adult son that is a police officer, and Bella, age 15 who is a figure skater.

Taylor Gilmore - Director

Taylor Gilmore is a Director who is our Coach Representative for our coaches who skate out of Aerodrome Ice Skating Complex. She is a former singles and Theater on Ice skater and has coached for many years. Taylor was a figure skating student herself at both Bellerive and Aerodrome. She has one child, Scarlett, age 5. who is a budding figure skater.

Chieu Foo - Director

Chieu is a Director who is our Parent Representative for our members at Bellerive Ice Center and surrounding area. She has two daughters that are figure skaters, Vanessa, age 18 and Maddy, age 11, as well a daughter, Sophia, age 16, and a son, Nicholas, age 10 that play hockey. Chieu has served on past figure skating club boards previously and brings much experience to our board.

Elena Prudsky - Director

Elena Prudsky is a Director who is our Coach Representative for our coaches who skate out of Bellerive Ice Center and surrounding area. She is a former pairs figure skater and has coached for many years. She and her husband, Val who is also a coach at Bellerive, have two children both of which figure skate, Aleksandra, age 18, and Nikita, age 15.

Mark Peavy - Director

Mark is our SkateSafe Chair and Test Chair. He has been a volunteer for many of our events for several years and can been seen often around the rink. He and his wife, Julie, have a daughter, Sara, age 16 who is a figure skater.
