Halloween Around Twain
- Parade: A short "Halloween Parade" will take place beginning at 10:00AM on Monday, October 31st. Weather permitting, we will parade out door # 9 on the back of the building and around to the front as we did during the walk-a-thon. Our Y5s & will lead the parade. All are welcome to come and watch our costume parade outdoors!
- Classroom Activities: Classrooms/grade levels will be planning for Halloween activities and celebrations individually, either before or after the parade. If teachers request parent volunteers to help facilitate the classroom activities, all volunteers will have to submit a Background Check.
- Costumes: Students may come to school in costume on Monday, October 31st. They can stay in costume for the duration of the day. Costumes need to be school appropriate and cannot depict violence or excess blood/gore. No fake weapons are allowed in school (i.e. toy guns, swords, blades, etc). Costume masks can be worn for the parade, but not throughout the day. For costumes that have short skirts/shorts, leggings or pants need to be worn underneath.
Solid Gold Shout Outs!
The following students are receiving Solid Gold Shout Outs from our teachers for their ROCKS behaviors last week:
Leila Keffalo(4th): I can always count on Leila to lend a helping hand to her peers. She's also so organized and always has her assignments completed and submitted on time each week. Way to go, Leila! - Mrs. Albrecht
Brody Phillips (4th): Brody is always so positive and out-going! He's super friendly and well-liked by his classmates! You're an awesome role model, Brody! - Mrs. Albrecht
David Upton (5th): David is always kind, cooperative in class and participates every day. He is responsible, respectful to classmates and adults, and has all work done timely. David does his best every day! Way to go, David, and keep it up! - Mrs. Schop
Jaxon Burgess (5th): Jaxon is a pleasure to have in class. He is responsible and respectful every day. He has great stories to tell, keeps me smiling, and is kind to others. He also takes morning circle seriously, and is not afraid to share. Jaxon puts forth academic effort in his work and throughout class with his constant participation. Keep up the great work! You are awesome! - Mrs. Schop

5th & 6th Grade Band Update
We are reaching out to provide an update on our elementary band program. The district has hired a new teacher and the program will resume on Monday, November 14th.
While we are in transition with our new teacher, your student can still be working on their band skills while at home. Below are some recommendations of at home activities from Mr. Rodgers.
5th Grade
Students can use the "Essential Elements" book that they purchased on rental night to read and learn how to put the instrument together, hold the instrument, and produce a tone. They can also look at the "Fingering Chart" in the back of the book to learn how to finger notes and try to produce them. In addition, students can sign up for "Essential Elements Interactive" for additional resources. This information is found on the first two pages of the book.
Below are some helpful videos your student can watch to help learn how to put their instrument together.
6th Grade
Students should continue to review what they were working on in the "Essential Elements" book. Review previous music and look ahead to new music and concepts in the book.
Thank you for your support and flexibility as the district found a new elementary band instructor.
READY OR NOT- THE COLD WEATHER IS HERE!
We're starting to see MANY students bundled up each day, which is great! Please be sure to send your child to school dressed for the weather each day. Students will start needing warm coats, gloves, hats, scarves, and/or boots daily throughout the winter.
Please take time to label each and every item- because our lost and found gets bombarded with lost winter accessories throughout the season
Please note that, per Board Policy, we will be having outdoor morning lineup and heading outdoors for our 20 minute recess(es) if the windchill is 10+ degrees.
Time outdoors is time well spent for kids, in all seasons
