I'm please to announce that Mr. Ryan Keller, CMS Teacher and Administrative Designee, will step in as interim assistant principal during Mrs. Falar's leave. A Message from CHS Principal Schmeichel
Coronado High invites 8th grade students and parents to open house on
Tuesday, March 3rd 6:30 pm Granzer Hall
In order to maximize student achievement and minimize course and schedule changes, administrators, teachers, and counselors will be using data, performance, and evidence of effort and motivation to recommend students for honors and AP courses with prerequisites. We invite you to open dialogue with your child about planning a course schedule aligned with areas of career interest, passion, and motivation, while considering the importance of balancing challenges in the course load so that healthy life balance and time to pursue extracurricular and family and community activities are possible.
In general, we DO NOT RECOMMEND enrolling in summer online courses to accelerate or skip to a next level course at CHS in the fall.

We look forward to helping you start your transition to high school.

8th Grade Promotion:
Hello future Freshman Parents & CHS Class of 2024,
As we enter into these exciting times for our young students, let's not forget how they started their middle school years: campus orientation, 6th Grade Olympics, 6th Grade Camp, Cotillion, Drug Store, Medieval Times etc. We plan to create a video slideshow that includes the whole class and will be shown at CMS 8th Grade Promotion Breakfast. To help complete this project, please email 3 JPEG pictures of your student to us. Please ensure they are clear, edited and ready for inclusion in our CMS 8th Grade Promotion end-of-year video.
The absolute deadline will be May 15, 2020. There will be reminders, but the deadline to produce this quality video of 200+ students is May 15, 2020. We are excited to be a part of this fun production.

6th Grade Parents
On Tuesday, March 24th, your child will be taking part in a program called "Drug Store," which is put together by Coronado SAFE and held at the Coronado Middle School.
The role of parents in drug and alcohol education is very important. The goal of the Drug Store Program is to engage our children to critically think about making positive, healthy lifestyle choices. The Drug Store is a dramatic, experiential program that takes students on a journey through the natural consequences of poor choices with regard to drugs and alcohol. More than 300 local sixth grade students from Coronado Middle School, Sacred Heart Parish School and Christ Church Day School go through this program. This community-wide event involves more than 100 volunteers including parents, DEA agents, police officers, EMTs, lawyers, judges, therapists, ministers, and more!
There are volunteer opportunities that take place the evening before the event, as well as throughout the event the following day. Please understand that you may be reassigned to a different role depending upon the needs of the program. We appreciate your flexibility and understanding.
We need your help to make this event a success!
