Caraway Academies will begin on Friday, October 7th. The purpose of Caraway Academy is to develop individual student talent through rich and engaging experiences. Using the philosophy and principles of the School-wide Enrichment Model every child will the have the opportunity to engage in challenging, meaningful and appealing instruction based on their strengths, talents and interests.
This past week students completed their academy choice sheets. Please ask your child about it!
Join us for a Special PTA General Membership Meeting on Wednesday, September 28th, a Principal's Coffee and Conversation will follow.

Calling all PTA members to join us for a QUICK general membership meeting to discuss a budget amendment pertaining to PTA's annual insurance policy. We will convene in the cafeteria at 7:40 am immediately after drop off for a quick briefing and vote.

Early Release Schedule
The time for early release this year has changed to 12:00 p.m. School bus times will be adjusted to reflect this change as well. Please make sure your child has after school arrangements beginning at 12:00 p.m. Remember, that no after school classes or clubs will take place on early release days, with the exception of the YMCA.

Parent Volunteer Applications
Free Flu Clinic- October 6
Our school has teamed up with Healthy Schools, to offer your child no-cost Flu injection…Regardless of your health insurance coverage. We’ve made it as convenient as possible to safeguard your child against the flu this season. Be on the look out for your child to bring home their consent form. All you have to do is fill it out, and have your child return it to school by September 26th. We take care of the rest- and there’s no cost involved. The Healthy Schools team will be at our school vaccinating students October 6th.
Riata Round Up
Monday September 26th
5:30-7:00pm
Join the PTA and Caraway Elementary in welcoming our Riata families. The Riata Roundup is a special event for Kathy Caraway Elementary families living within the Riata community. It will be at the Riata Neighborhood Park near the tennis courts.
This FREE fun and informative event for Riata families and is a great opportunity to meet your neighbors, PTA volunteers and learn about programs that are available to you though the school and the Parent Teacher Association (PTA).
There will be good food and music. Hope you will be able to join us for a fun evening!
Run with the Warriors
SCHEDULE:
8:30-9:00: Registration
9:00 - 9:15: Stretch and warm-up
9:15 - 10:00: Run with the Warriors. Members of the Westwood Cross Country team will be present to run with your children and cheer them on as they make their way around the one mile track. They can stop at one mile, or keep running for the whole time. Certificates and medals will be given upon completion. Certificates will be accepted by your child’s PE coach for credit in Marathon Kids.
