HOME SCREEN
Each ED iPad Home Screen was configured by our IT Department in collaboration with EDU. You are able to download any free app. If you would like an app with a cost involved, you must add payment information.
Pinning Websites to the Home Screen
- Go to the website you want to save to the home screen in the Safari browser. (https://www.naeyc.org)
- Tap the Share button. This is the button immediately to the right of the address bar. It looks like a box with an arrow coming out of it.
- You should see "Add to Home Screen" in the second row of buttons. It has a big plus sign in the middle of the button and is right next to the "Add to Reading List" button.
- After you tap the Add to Home Screen button, a window will appear with the name of the website, the web address and an icon for the website. You shouldn't need to change anything, but if you want to give the website a new name, you can tap on the name field and enter anything you want.
- Tap the Add button in the top-right corner of the window to complete the task. Once you tap the button, Safari will close and you will see an icon for the website on your home screen.
iBooks
iBooks is a way to save and organize your NEAYC resources.
- To save a PDF file to an iPad from email, put your finger on the document and wait for a menu to pop up. Then select "Open in iBooks" and it will be saved into the iBooks app on your iPad.
- To save a PDF document from the browser, tap near the top of the document in the iPad browser window and choose "Open in iBooks."
- PLEASE NOTE: The below NAEYC Standards have been downloaded into iBooks on your iPad.
AirDrop
AirDrop is a feature that lets Macs and iOS devices share files wirelessly with a minimum of fuss.
- Launch Control Center by swiping up from the bottom of your iPad.
- Make sure both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are active.
