Principal's Message
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
I hope this message finds you well. As we step into the month of February, it is with great pleasure that I share some exciting updates and important reminders with you all.
Celebrating Black History Month:
This February marks the beginning of Black History Month, a time to honor and celebrate the rich contributions of African Americans to our nation's history. Throughout the month, our students will engage in various educational activities that highlight the achievements, struggles, and cultural significance of African Americans. We encourage you to take part in these conversations at home, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation for the diversity that enriches our school community.
Upcoming Winter Concert:
Get ready to be filled with joyful performances at our upcoming Winter Concert on Tuesday, February 6th. Our talented students have been diligently practicing in music classes, and we invite you to join us in celebrating their hard work and musical accomplishments. Below you will find details regarding the Winter Concert. Please note that parking on campus will be tight so if you can carpool that would be great. Please do not park in fire lanes or bus lanes. You may use the rear of our school for parking and guests can enter through either our main entrance or rear entrance. Staff will be on hand to greet you. For the second show at 2:00 P.M., if you wish to take your child home with you after the concert, please contact Ms. Lima or Ms. Rivera in our main office ASAP to let us know. If plans change and you need to take your child on the day of the concert, you must sign out in our main office. We need to account for every child for walkers, parent pick-up, and bus transportation.
This Month's Theme: Kindness Matters
In the spirit of nurturing a positive and inclusive school environment, our theme for the month of February is "Kindness Matters." We believe that small acts of kindness can create a ripple effect that positively impacts our entire community. Encourage your children to express kindness not only within the school walls, but also in their daily interactions outside. Together, we can create a culture of compassion and empathy that lasts a lifetime.
I am very proud of our students for working so hard this time of year. Our classrooms have been filled with challenging and fun activities. I am delighted to take a moment to express our deepest appreciation for the remarkable dedication and hard work exhibited by our exceptional Brophy Staff as well. In the face of challenges,(new HMH Literacy curriculum adoption, ACCESS testing, Task-based math integration, Safety Lessons, WIN Block supports, Co-teaching Trainings, and administering timely assessments, to name a few) our staff have gone above and beyond to create engaging and supportive learning environments, ensuring that every student receives the attention they deserve. Their passion for education and the well-being of our students is truly commendable. Thank you for entrusting us with your children's education, and please join us in recognizing the extraordinary efforts of our incredible teaching staff.
As always, your continued support is invaluable to us. If you have any questions, suggestions, or if there's anything you'd like to discuss, please don't hesitate to reach out. Let's make February a month of reflection, celebration, and kindness.
Wishing you and your families a wonderful month ahead.
Sincerely,
John

District Communication Survey for Caregivers
Last Call! District Communication Survey for Caregivers
The District is seeking feedback from caregivers on communication. Please consider sharing your input before this Sunday's deadline if you want to share thoughts on current practices, areas of improvement, and future interests. The 24-question survey seems long at first, but includes smaller sections to break up the questions. https://forms.gle/AX6STdw32YP3ZsMZ8
Main Office Reminders
Dismissal Change Requests
If caregivers need to change pick-up plans for dismissal, please be sure to notify both your child's classroom teacher AND the main office. Doing both will make sure that your child will receive the message along with our teachers, and dismissal staff. We have made some errors this year and we have also not received change requests. Let's continue to work together so we can get all changes correct for dismissal each time.

February is KINDNESS Month
February is Kindness Month!
Starting next week, Brophy students will work together on our Kindness Calendar! Each day we will do something kind for a friend, an adult or ourselves! Feel free to check in with your child to see how they demonstrated kindness each day this month!
- What are 3 ways that you can show kindness at school or home today?
- How does it make you feel when someone is kind to you?
- Think of a time when showing kindness is hard, what could you do make sure you show kindness?
February Community Meeting
Students share kindness examples.
Students are up for our February Challenge: Each day students will be asked to do something to make Brophy School better each day!
