Just a reminder that Jackson is having our Marco's pizza fundraiser this Monday Feb. 20th-Wednesday Feb. 22nd. If you order a pizza from Marco's and say you are from Jackson Elementary you will have your pizza delivered in a box decorated by your child.

A portion of the proceeds will go straight to Jackson Elementary! Make sure to say your child's name so they can deliver the decorated box. Please let me know if you have any questions:)

Theme Week/100th Day of School

Next week Jackson will be doing an "I love to read month" theme week. We are also celebrating the 100th day of school!

Tuesday Feb. 21st: Dress like you are 100 years old!

Wednesday Feb. 22nd: Wearable Words (wear a shirt with words)

Thursday Feb. 23rd: I'm Crazy about Reading (wear crazy socks, crazy hair, crazy dress)

Friday Feb. 24th: Warm up with a good book (bring a blanket, comfy clothes, or PJ's to school)

What did we learn this week?

Reading: We did an author study on Aaron Babley. We compared and contrasted his "Pig the Pug" books. The students loved it!

Writing: The students are continuing to draw two pictures and write two sentences on their own. We talked about staying on topic with multiple sentences. We are also learning about opinion writing by doing book reviews!

Phonics: We continued to work on CVC words but also began working on blends in words.

Math: We talked about the difference between 2D and 3D shapes.
