Biography
Meghan Trainor was born on December 22, 1993. She was born and raised in Nantucket, Massachusetts with her two brothers, Ryan and Justin. Trainor is an American singer-songwriter and record producer. She started singing at six years old, with her father in church. At age 11, she told her dad she wanted to become a recording artist, and she started writing music. By the time she turned 13, she had written her own original song called "Give Me A Chance." During the year of eighth grade, she moved from Nantucket to Orleans to North Eastham. She signed with Big Yellow Dog in 2011, but in 2014, signed with Epic Records. Trainor has a retro style aesthetic and writes about body image, empowerment, and womanhood. On December 7, Trainor reacted to her Grammy nomination on Twitter. She said she was crying all day and that she was honored to be placed next to people like Tori Kelley. A few months before being nominated for a Grammy, Meghan Trainor's "Like I'm Gonna Lose You" music video starring John Legend came out. Trainor had to fight for "All About That Bass." Songwriters complained that the song didn't have a "big chorus," but she kept it anyway, and it's everyone's favorite part. All throughout her life, she was told she was too "big" to make in Hollywood, but here she is! She says that in her eyes, it's good to have an average body in the charts.

Meghan Trainor went to school at Nauset Regional High School in North Eastham, Massachusetts. She enrolled in a Summer Performance Progam at Berklee College of Music. She is also a notable alumni from Berklee.
Albums Released
Trainor has released four albums in her career so far. In 2011, she released "I'll Sing With You" and "Only 17." In 2014, "Title(EP)" was released. Lastly, "Title" was released in 2015.
Influences
Trainor was introduced to many artists by her father as a child. There are many people she credits with influencing her career. She says her biggest influences are Frank Sinatra, Phil Collins, Stevie Wonder, Bruno Mars, and Christina Aguilera. Other artists that she has admired are The Chordettes, Earth Wind & Fire, Jason Mraz, *NSYNC, Ray Charles, T-Pain, and Beyonce.

Throughout her career, Trainor has won four awards and has been nominated for seven. She also was named the "Breakthrough Artist of the Year" by the Music Business Association. During Trainor's career, she won ASCAP Pop Music Award, two Billboard Music awards, and a Youtube Music Award. She was also nominated for three Grammy awards.
