Bobcat Parents: Please take a few minutes to complete the Annual DVUSD Parent Survey!
As we strive to continuously improve our schools and the district, we value community and parent feedback. Provide your input by completing this brief survey here. We will take the feedback given on this survey, review the results and take action on what our parents and community members have to say.
We had a great first week of Step It UP! Keep sending emails & encouraging donations to help us reach our SF fundraising goals!
*The grade level raising the highest amount of money gets to turn a staff member (either Mr. Gooding or Mrs. Baumgartner & Mrs. Cole) into a human hot dog with all the ketchup and mustard you can imagine!
*6th, 7th, 8th Grade is working towards earning their Color Run! We need MORE of our middle schoolers to sign up and send emails. Please!
Picture Day is Coming Soon...

A Peek Into Our PLCs:
Our teachers and staff continue to be grateful for the 2pm dismissal days that allow for collaboration time focused on student data, best teaching practices, and tiered instruction. Over the next few weeks, you'll see a different grade level/team highlighted in the weekly Bobcat Bulletin sharing a little peek into what is happening during their PLC time on Fridays and/or why they are so thankful for this time as professionals. Enjoy!
Our fourth grade team’s PLC focus is identifying the strengths and needs of our students through analysis of data. Through this analysis we plan interventions and enrichment lessons to meet the needs of all students. This time is invaluable for our team to collaborate and discuss best practices in order for our students to reach their full potential.

Weekly Message from the Founder of ALL THINGS EQ (Danna Evans):
The motto in school this week is:
I am always improving.
The key to self-improvement is loving and accepting ourselves just the way we are while striving to improve. It's important to balance self-improvement with a strong self-esteem.
One way we do that in school is to have students focus on KEEPS & STARTS.
- KEEPS are what your child is doing well and should keep doing. KEEPS help kids to identify and celebrate their strengths
- STARTS are what your child can start doing to improve. STARTS are the skills kids can improve to get even better.
For example, after your child practices an oral report:
1. Keep Doing: "You are good at projecting your voice. Keep your volume up; it's perfect."
2. Start Doing: "You may want to look up more often. Having eye contact with your audience will keep them engaged."
3. Acknowledge the effort: "I'm impressed with how you are practicing your oral report."
When feedback focuses on what's working as well as what's not, it is not only easier to give and to hear, but it is also easier to apply and improve.
We STILL have an IMMEDIATE NEED for the following position on campus:
- Lunch Monitor (11:15am-1:00pm)
*This position is crucial to the daily operations of our school. Please spread the word and encourage interested applicants to apply.
