After School Plans

Please call the office before 2:30pm if you have a change in after school plans. This helps with getting notes to the children in a timely manner. If we don't hear from you, we will assume to continue on with regular after school plans.

Attendance to School

  • students are expected to attend school regularly and arrive on time.
  • excused absences: medical-with a note.
  • unexcused absences: not covered with a note or call.
  • tardy: attendance is taken first thing in the morning. Students who are late, but arrive before 8:30 are counted tardy. If they arrive after 8:30, they will be considered absent.
  • PM absences: the cut off time in the afternoon Monday-Thursday is 2:55pm and on Friday 1:15pm.
Reporting your students absence: PLEASE CALL the office. When you know your child will be absent from school, please call the office between 7:45-8:45am.

Lost and Found

Have your child check the lost and found regularly. We accumulate a surprising amount of clothing. This gets donated bi-weekly to the Bargin Box, so please make sure to check periodically for missing articles. Thank you!

Recesses and warm clothing

Continue to dress in the proper clothing, coats, gloves, caps, and foul weather footwear. We go outside when it is 5 degrees or above.

Water Bottles

Remember to bring a clean water bottle to school daily.

A note from the Nurse

Students need to be healthy to attend school. Please do not send your child to school when they are ill.

There are three main reasons to keep your sick child home.

  1. You child doesn't feel well enough to take part in normal activities.
  2. Your child needs more care than teachers and staff can give, and still care for other children.
  3. The illness is one that is included in our Sick Day Guidelines list and staying home is recommended.

24 Hour Rule:

  1. FEVER: Keep your child home until their fever has been gone WITHOUT medicine for 24 hrs.
  2. VOMITING OR DIARRHEA: Keep your child home for 24 hrs. or had diarrhea.
  3. ANTIBIOTICS: Keep your child home until 24 hrs. after the FIRST dose of antinbiotics for anything like an ear infection or strep throat.

Counselor's Corner

This month, we have been focusing on the value of kindness in Classroom Counseling lessons. Students have been working to catch each other doing acts of kindness, and then they write these acts of kindness on a heart. We are working together to grow the Grinch's heart, and as you can see from the picture, I think we succeeded! It has been heartwarming to read these hearts as I have put them up on the wall. Acts of kindness have ranged from "holding the door open for the whole kindergarten class" to "the whole class went outside and helped their classmate find his lost glasses on the playground." Livingston is FULL of students seeking to find the good in one another and seeking to help one another. What a wonderful December it has been!
