Bulldog Families,
I hope everyone is doing well. This is a very challenging time in our community, state, country and world. I want to assure you that Bowman High School and the Hart District is doing everything we can to sustain a quality education for your children. Our world has transformed overnight, and both teachers and students are working through learning how to navigate distant learning. Bowman’s teachers have worked tirelessly to make sure our students have the same opportunities, if not more, than what they would have had coming to school daily.
Students can access up to one full credit of work a week for each class. Teachers have opened the doors to wonderful online opportunities for student learning. There are many ways to communicate with their teachers including google classroom, email and the REMIND app.
Tips for parents:
1. Please encourage your student to maintain a structured schedule. The Hart District has put out a schedule for students to work in blocks of time. The structure can help students complete all their work weekly so that they can earn up to one credit per class per week.
2. Try and provide a quite, non-destructible area for your student to work in. This may have challenges now that everyone is home. It may require time blocks so that families can share the quiet area to work in.
3. Encourage and Motivate. This is a difficult transition for many people, especially students. They need encouragement and motivation, especially from those they trust the most.
4. Love on your children. Although this time brings on so many obstacles, it is also a time we can reconnect with loved ones. Find the value in the relationships you have with your family. Share why they are so significant to you, and at least three reasons why you love them.
5. Talk! Talk! Talk! It’s time to have real conversations. Limit media platforms and have conversations with your children. This is so valuable, and we forget at times just how face to face communication builds strong, trusting and loving relationships.
I want you all to know that we are here for you. If at any time you need anything at all, please reach out to administration, counselors and teachers. I can be reached at ezeevi@hartdistrict.org. All other emails can be accessed through our staff directory on the Bowman website.

Free Educational Websites for Home- for other children in the home
Sometimes screen time is a necessity if we have children at home and work we need to do. Here are three apps that make screen time a learning time:
- CodeMonkey: a game-based education program that teaches children to code. It comes with a membership fee, but there's a free 14-day trial that doesn't require a credit card.
- BrainPop: Online learning across subject areas for children in kindergarten through middle school and ELL learning for all age groups. Free.
- Khan Academy: Online learning in math, science, and literacy for all age groups. Standards-aligned. Free.
- BrainPop: Fun, interactive educational activities for all ages and all subject areas
- Scholastic Learn at Home: Interactive learning journeys for all ages.
