Dear Legacy Families,

Thank you for working with us to complete virtual conferences through Google Meet this week. Please click the above link to complete a survey about the experience.

Along with conferences, it has been a wonderful week of learning about the importance of voting, celebrating civics through education, and "Meeting" important leaders. We have already been able to interview U.S. Senator John Thune and U.S. Senator Mike Rounds via Google Meet. We also listened to Mayor Lawler talk about leadership as well as School Board President Kristen Daggett share about the role of a School Board member. On Monday, Congressman Dusty Johnson will be our final National South Dakota elected leader speaking to us.

Here are a few notes for student dress-up days to make next week fun, too.

  • Monday: We are celebrating South Dakota's 131st Birthday today by wearing South-Dakota themed clothing. Students can support their favorite South Dakota University, Mount Rushmore, Corn Palace, or other South Dakota original attraction with their clothing this day!
  • Tuesday: As students vote this day in our Mock Presidential Election, each class is wearing Red, White, or Blue to celebrate our right to vote!

As we continue to encourage students to participate, please thank Mrs. Desaulniers and Miss Hutt for their work putting together a great week of learning about the rights and responsibilities we all have as Americans.

After visiting with our students, I am very certain we have many future mayors, school board members, business leaders, and maybe... just maybe... a future President walking these halls as a Titan today, too.

It's a Great Day to be a Titan!
Dr. Samantha Walder
