Week 6, T2 2022
10/6/22 - He Pānui Wiki Ono, Whānga Tuarua
Kia ora e te whānau
This week has been 'Education Support Staff Week'. At Gladstone School we are so grateful for the dedication and commitment Kirstan Norman, Chrissy Webb, Julie Nunn, Lara Hooper, Rachel Nicol and Clinton Homes put into their time here. The school could simply not function without their input and we extend to all of you a huge 'THANK YOU' for everything you do.
Clinton has his last day with us this coming Monday. Clinton, along with Kathryn and children Jake, Jackson & Danny are moving to the UK in the next few weeks. We thank Clinton for the outstanding job he has done at our school and wish the family all the best of luck for their new venture. You will all be greatly missed and we hope to have lots of updates from the other side of the world.
We have had a productive short week with lots of groups of students participating in cool activities. Our Year 8 students spent the day being wowed by the team at Kuranui College - by all accounts a thoroughly enjoyable day. Gill Stewart facilitated a tracking and trapping workshop for South Wairarapa Schools here at Gladstone and we had a group participating in the Speed Date with an Author session as part of Featherston's Book Week.
Welcome to Kayla Scott
Kayla is working up in Ōnoke through until the end of next week. She is currenly completing the first year of her teacher training. We will be welcoming Kayla back for a 4 week stint in Term 4. It's lovely to have you on board Kayla.
Values Focus This Week
We hope that you all have a good weekend and enjoy the sport that you may be playing - well done to the Gladdy Basketball team who took out a win over Greytown on Wednesday evening. Good luck to our team of 45 students who are competing in the Wairarapa Schools Cross Country event being held at Solway Show Grounds on Tuesday.

Message from the DHB
As you will be aware, the health system is facing a challenging time ahead. As a community, we have a predicated 2nd wave of Omicron across the country during July to September and a variant of the Influenza virus that is already in the Wairarapa. Therefore, with the potential for other health issues across the community due to winter on top of these higher profile viruses, the DHB would like to support where ever it can. Please reach out to us for additional information on staying well this winter.
