Weekly update for the Meadows Elementary School community

Meadows Reminders...

Student safety is our number one priority at Meadows. This includes our entire community. Please drive safely at morning drop off and pick up. Please do not park in the "Kiss and Drop" zone. Last week, a car swerved around another car that was parked and almost hit another car. There is no stopping nor getting out of the car in the valet lines in the morning. Take your time, and please slow down. Thank you for keeping our students and families safe!

PTSA General Meeting

At the meeting held this last week, Deputy Travis Sabadin spoke to parents about drug safety and showed parents vape devices. We discussed the dangers and how tobacco companies market to young children to purchase these items. They are sold for as low as $1.00 and can be concealed very easily. To help our parents and our upper elementary age students stay educated, we will be hosting a anti-drug and vaping information night with Deputy who works directly with Detective Velek for the SCV Sheriff's Department Intervention J-Team. We appreciate our partnership with our SCV Sheriff Department. We will send an invitation in November for these informational meetings.

Meadows Foundation Reading Loft is in Progress

The reading loft is in progress. Installation of the reading nooks happened over the weekend. We hope to have our young readers enjoy this space in the Spring. Thank you to our Foundation to building this beautiful space for our children.

APEX Fundraiser Starts Next Month

Get ready for it! We are going to have a blast at this year's fundraiser.

Foundation’s fundraiser, APEX, is coming up next month! To see where the funds are utilized and to meet the Board of Directors, please visit:

This fundraiser is the only fundraiser for all students other than Popcornopolis in the spring that pays for all enrichment and technology for our children.

After- School Enrichment Funded by the Meadows Foundation

Our Meadows Foundation is excited to support After School Enrichment for the 2019/2020 school year! Classes will be taught Wednesdays OR Thursdays from 2:45-3:45 pm from November 6 - December 12, 2019 for Session 1 (No classes will be held the week of November 18 due to Parent Teacher Conferences). There will be more sessions that will be offered in the Spring as well (classes to be determined). We will be asking for a $30 donation per student to develop a sense of commitment to the class and assist with teacher pay/materials. Class size is limited to 30 students; therefore, enrollment will be based on a first come, first served basis. Please contact Mrs. Dorroh, our Program Coordinator with questions about the after school classes.
