By Michael Petcu

What is night-vision?

Night Vision is used to look with our eyes in the dark, using different devices.

How does Night- Vision work?

Night-vision absorbs all available light, including infrared and amplifies it by a great amount so you can easily see in the dark using devices like night vision goggles.

Different Night-Vision Devices

History of Night-Vision

The first practical night vision devices were developed in Germany in the mid-1930s and were used by both German tanks and infantry during World War II. A disadvantage of night-vision against infrared technology which can tell if something is human by the colours it gives off from heat. An advantage against infrared is that you can see a more clear image with night-vision goggles, and with infrared you can see objects but with different colours all over your image.
