GISD SEL School of Excellence
The Garland ISD Guidance and Counseling department in collaboration with the SEL Steering Committee created a unique award opportunity to recognize campuses.
The GISD SEL School of Excellence Award highlighted GISD campuses that exhibit effective implementation of SEL (Social Emotional Learning) for students, staff, families, and the community.
Campuses can earn a Gold, Silver, or Bronze distinction based on the effectiveness of SEL implementation campus-wide.
…And the GISD SEL School of Excellence GOLD Standard Award goes to…
Park Crest Elementary!
Parents, please be sure to congratulate your teachers for being the caring, empathetic teachers they are, and for providing a safe environment for your students.
Counselor Info for Parents - Looking Towards 2021
While we are still knee deep in this school year, believe it or not, we have already started planning for an even better next year!
We have missed you! So many parents regularly offered support before the pandemic- in the form of volunteering, attending meetings to provide us valuable feedback, helping our students with various drives and fundraisers, and so many other ways.
Your parent involvement is so important to the culture of our school and to your child’s success.
If you would like to become involved at Park Crest again starting next year, please consider attending the LAST Counselor meeting on Thursday, June 3rd.
If the weather is not too hot, we will try and meet outdoors, with social distancing.
