NEWS, RESOURCES AND LEARNING FOR PANTHER STAFF, 1/8/18
ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR THE WEEK OF JANUARY 8- JANUARY 12, 2018
Brrrr. Cold enough For You. Hope you are successfully recovering from your chilly days off. Here are the updates for the upcoming week.
Tracks 1, 2, and 3 should send their Report Cards home on Tuesday, January 9th.
As several of you know, my wife and I had a refrigerator leak into our flooring so the adjustments to being out of the kitchen and den begin this week. As Chip and Joanna Gaines from Fixer Upper would say it's Demo Day--actually demo days to fix the floor and put new cabinets and flooring in. Hoped to do it over Christmas but contractor schedules didn't align. As a result, I'll be out some this week and periodically over the next month as needed.
MAKE UP DAYS Tracks 1/2/3: Make up days for the past two snow days bare Saturday January 20th and Saturday April 7th. See Ms. Person with questions and leave form information.
DELAYS: See the delay schedules in the PUE Master folder for information about when to report to work etc...if there is inclement weather.
HOLIDAY:- January 15th is a HOLIDAY for the observance of Martin Luther King's birthday.
MID-YEAR PDP DUE: Please enter information for your mid- year PDP and email Lfricke if you have questions. Please have this completed by Tuesday, January 16th
DREAMBOX WEBINAR: Annette has arranged further training with Dreambox for Wednesday, January 17th. Please arrange your PLT on a different day for next week. TAs are welcome but not required for this PD.

$10,000 4Cs GRANT DEADLINE IS THIS WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 10TH
The Wake County Public School System’s Strategic Plan, 4Cs Grant deadline for teachers is almost here. Think of how you or your grade level could use up to $10,000 to enhance class layout and instructional materials. The grant is simpler than most grants so certainly is very doable and who couldn't use an extra $10,000 for their classroom. This is an outstanding opportunity for your team to further the use of the 4Cs and most recently our implementation of global instruction. Applicants may request up to $10,000. Click here to find out more about this year's opportunity. Deadline is next Wednesday, January 10 at 5:00 pm.
For interested applicants that were not able to attend the information sessions, Google Hangout sessions are available by contacting Cindy DeFoor (cdefoor@wcpss.net). In addition, the Office of Grants created a video overview of the 4C Fund. Please click here for a taped review of the 4C Fund and application requirements.
Should you have questions or need additional information, please contact Dr. Angie Wright with the Office of Grants and Strategic Advancement at awright@wcpss.net or (919) 533-7722.
