Happy New Year Rock Nation!

Rock Nation Parents and Students:

I just wanted to take a couple minutes and welcome you all back to the AMAZING Rock Hill High School!! We are extremely excited to get this year cranked up again and have a lot of incredible things planned for our kids throughout this Spring Semester. If you are new to our campus we are thrilled to have you here and please do not hesitate to reach out to myself or anyone on our admin team for help. That's what we are here for! Please make sure that your student goes to the counseling office on the first day to get a guided tour from our student welcoming team and RHHS SWAG bag.

The beginning of a new semester is a great time to review our campus expectations and especially our procedures regarding COVID 19. Our students and staff worked tremendously hard during the fall and I have no doubt that will continue as we enter the Spring Semester. Parents if you would please review the campus dress code with your students and make sure to communicate any scheduling issues with your assigned counselor.

Another important item that has come up has been the request for a change in learning platform. At this time, PISD is only accepting a request to change from virtual to in person instruction. However, please reach out to your campus administrator if you have any questions or need clarification on the process for this. They will be the resource to work through that process.

Lastly, we will begin the course selection process on January 19 for the 2021-2022 school year. Our counseling staff will begin meeting with each grade level on campus as well as making trips to our feeder middle schools (Hays and Rogers). Please take time to review your student's course plan when making selections. This is an important process for us as we use this information to determine staffing needs for next year.

Again, this is going to be another GREAT semester at Rock Hill and if there is anything I can help with please do not hesitate to let me know. Have a great week and GO ROCK!!

Please make sure to go over this with your student. Some key items are:

  • Make sure their shirts extend to the waist line if wearing jeans and past the index finger if wearing workout/yoga pants.
  • Checking that the holes in jeans are not above the index finger
  • Hats/Beanies should be taken off in the building unless it's Friday which is our hat day
  • Ensure that the symbols on the clothing is school appropriate (i.e. drug references, Playboy symbol, etc.)

Please make sure to call our Campus Nurse, Nichole Warren, and complete the COVID 19 Screener if your student is ill with possible COVID symptoms. This will help us ensure that exposure is limited on campus.

Reminder, that if your student needs to stay home due to having COVID or is identified as a close contact, they will be transitioned to virtual learning during their time off campus and will not occur absences because of this.

Virtual Open House

We are very excited to announce our Virtual Open House! The goal of our Virtual Open House is to allow families the opportunity to hear from teachers about the classroom set up, present basic information regarding grading policies and get to know your child's teacher a little more.

You may access the site here. It is organized by subject area and each teacher's name is listed with a link to their presentation. The subjects are listed at the very top of the site. We hope you enjoy the presentations our teacher have put together!

RHHS Attendance Procedures and House Secretaries

Please remember that your student method of instruction and attendance must match per State of Texas requirements. For example, if your student is an "in person" student but decides to stay home and log in as a "virtual" student for a class period they will be counted absent. The same will go for a student who is listed as a "virtual" student in Skyward but decides to attend class in person for a class period. Please make sure to work with your campus assistant principal if you have questions about your student's attendance.
For any transportation changes, need to check a student out and/or doctor's/parent/guardian notes please call, email, of give in person to your HOUSE secretary. We are trying to streamline this process away from the front office and have created a "one stop shop" for all your student needs. Please make your first point of contact for anything regarding your student the appropriate house secretary. In the event you can not reach them please direct your needs to our receptionist Tracy Burns tlburns@prosper-isd.net . PLEASE be sure to get these in by 2pm as anytime after there is No guarantee we will be able to get the information to your student after this point.
