Hour of Code Coming Next Week!: Computer Science Week is from Dec 5-9 and we are hoping to have many participants! You can do something on any of the days next week that is most convenient for you. Come to the Hour Of Code Workshop after school tomorrow for ideas!
S.W.A.T Team Update: Our new student technology help desk, The S.W.A.T (Students Willing to Assist with Technology) Team is off to a great start! Nearly all of them have passed the certification requirements to fix broken Chromebook screens. This is a huge help to us and we are very proud of them. You can find them most periods in the Library and at extension 2525. We hope you start (or continue) to utilize their services.
Teacher Pages: There are still several teachers that do not have a teacher page or Google Calendar (or Classroom icon) on the school's main website. Please make an effort to get your site live as quickly as possible and you must make your calendar PUBLIC in order for people to see it. Please contact Michele if you need help.
Sign out for Room 111 (HS): There is a sign-out process for Room 111 that should be followed if you desire to use the room. Please contact Carole or Cheryl in the library and they will set you up! Thanks.
Google Classroom Guardian Summaries: It is up to the teacher if he/she wants to participate in Classroom Summaries for the parents. If one teacher allows access it does not mean you have to, even though you can see that the parent was invited on the roster. We offer other forms of communication. This is just one way and by preference. If you need help with this, please contact Michele

SAMR SECTION - Transforming lessons with SAMR
Lesson: Phys Ed – Learning To Hit a Baseball Well
Original Assignment: Learning how to hit a baseball by watching and listening to a Coach or Phys Ed instructor show you and then trying it yourself.
- Substitution: The coach/teacher videos the training exercise and uses this as the lesson.
- Augmentation: The coach/teacher videos the training exercise and provides links to other training content (videos and articles from other coaches, etc).
- Modification: The coach/teacher videos the training exercise and “flips” the lesson, having students watch it as homework, and using class time to practice and reinforce techniques.
- Redefinition: Students watch video examples and practice the techniques, then the coach/teacher videos them hitting balls and provides feedback about their technique.
