Picture Day and Senior Portraits
Homecoming 2016
This year's Homecoming Football Game will be on Saturday, October 8th against Ewing High School. The game will be played at Notre Dame High School (because of the work being completed on the LHS turf field) at 12:00 noon.
The Homecoming Dance will be from 7:00-10:00 p.m. that evening at Cedar Gardens in Hamilton. Tickets will be sold the week of September 26th (no tickets will be sold at the door). To attend, students must have a completed permission form and must not owe any fines or textbooks or be on loss of privilege. Tickets are $40 each (cash only).

Haunted High
PSAT Testing
- Please note that there will be NO MAKE-UPS for this testing, so it is important to be present and on time. Students who arrive after the start of testing will not be permitted into the testing location.
- Students must bring their own calculators and #2 pencils.

LHS Cheerleaders
This summer, cheerleaders throughout the tri-state area attended the Universal Cheerleader Association's (UCA) Cheerleading Camp in Greeley, PA.
The LHS Varsity Cheerleaders, coached by Adrienne Wasserleben and volunteer Elizabeth Watson, competed in the Elite Varsity division and earned 3rd place for their "Team Cheer," 2nd place overall in "Game Day" which consisted of overall sidelines, cheer, and band dance, and the "Game Day Ready" award upon arriving to camp!
Our JV Cheerleaders also earned 2nd place for their Sideline Cheer and "Overall Most Improved."
Finally, ten of our cheerleaders qualified to be All-Americans after trying out among 200 cheerleaders who attended camp. Freshmen winners are invited to perform in the Thanksgiving Parade in Philadelphia, PA. Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors are invited to perform the in New Years Day Governors Parade in London, England!

Free and Reduced Lunch
Parents, please remember that you must re-apply for Free and Reduced Lunch annually. Requests do not roll from year to year. If you were approved for Free and Reduced Lunch last year but do not re-apply, your status will return to “paid” on October 21 and you will be fiscally responsible for all charges incurred until a new application is approved.
Each family only needs to fill out one application for all students at their address.

Crew Members Wanted
- LTPS-TV on Comcast Channel 19 and Verizon Channel 37 is looking for students to announce or run a video camera for LHS sporting events and other programs. Students may be eligible to work for pay.
- The District Media Center is looking for students to operate lights, sound, and projectors in the LHS Auditorium and the LHS Commons. Students may be eligible to work for pay.
To apply for either of these opportunities, see Mr. Ervin in the District Technology Center, located below the LHS TV Studio.
Calling all Volunteers
Weight Room
If you are interested in participating in weight room on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays this fall, please fill out the form in your .info email and hand in directly to the school nurse. You need to have had a physical in the last 365 days to be able to participate, and those physicals need to be on file with the school nurse. See Coach Septer with any questions.

College Visits
SENIORS! Check Naviance (under the “Colleges” tab) for the updated and upcoming college visit list. We currently have over 65 college representatives visiting Lawrence High School. Click on the sign-up link to receive a pass for the visit. Please note that these visits are not excused absences.

Student Council
The first Student Council meeting will be held on Friday, September 16th at 7:15 a.m. in the Guidance Career Center.
We will be discussing Homecoming, themes, and spirit week activities!
Math League
Our first meeting will be on Tuesday, September 20th in Room 226 from 3:00-3:30 p.m. Come find out what Math League is all about, meet current members, and see if it's for you! If you have any questions contact Ms. Witt. Check her teacher site for information about upcoming practices and competitions.
Freshman Class Elections
Elections for Freshman Officers will be taking place during the final week of September. If you are interested in running for an office, please pick up a form outside of Room 720 and return it by September 19th. Forms can be returned to Ms. Huber in Room 720 or to Mrs. Ryan in the Main Office. No late forms will be accepted.
The positions available are:
- President
- Vice President
- Secretary
- Treasurer
- Historian
Officers will participate in bimonthly officer/class meetings after school, fundraising, the Homecoming pep rally, and other events throughout the year. Get involved and be a voice for your class! Please see Miss Huber with any questions.
Theater Company
- Auditions for the fall show, A Christmas Carol, will be on Friday, September 16th right after school. Newcomers welcome!
- The LHS Theater Company will hold a parent volunteer meeting on Thursday, September 22nd at 6:30 p.m.
- Save the date for Theatersports Night, which will be on Thursday, October 6th at 7:00 p.m.
* LHS ATHLETICS *
The fall athletic season has gotten off to a great start here at LHS! The football team started the season with a big win over Hamilton West on Saturday, September 10th. The girls and boys soccer teams each earned themselves a win in their first games of the season. Girls tennis has a strong, young team that has won a few matches and is working hard against some tough opponents. The cross-country season opened up with their first conference match on September 13th.
The turf field is progressing nicely, and we hope to see the stadium field opening sometime in October! We will continue to update you on its progress. Remember, our Homecoming football game, scheduled for October 8th, will be held at 12:00 noon at Notre Dame High School (neutral site).
