Week of May 24th
I hope that you had a wonderful weekend!
Our Student Government Association (SGA) provides students an opportunity to develop leadership by organizing and carrying out school activities and service projects. In addition to planning events that contribute to school spirit, our SGA is the voice of the student body. They help share student ideas, interests and concerns with the school wide community. I want to thank all the students who led this year as apart of our SGA, may they have been on the Executive Board or a member- they all contributed and helped lift up student voice during a very unusual year.
We recently had elections for our Student Government Association Executive Board for SY21-22. I am excited to introduce our SGA Executive Board members for the 2021-2022 school year:
- Secretary: Nina Oros
- Vice President will be dually served by Cara Warren & Oliver Herzke
- President: Colin FitzPatrick
I am very proud of every student who took a risk and ran for a position. Please join me in congratulating our new Executive Board members.
Please continue to encourage your child(ren) to check out this week's Countdown Festivities!

Pay Attention to Joy
It can be hard to notice good things when there is stress. It is also common to feel guilty about things that are going well, when we know things for others may be going through hard times. However, by focusing on joyful experiences and practicing gratitude, you can feel better.
How can I practice paying attention to positive experiences?
- Recognize the things in your life that are going well, no matter how small they might be. Start by listing 3 things that you are thankful for.
- You can focus on the good. If you are feeling bad for something that is going well for you, try to shift your guilt into being grateful.
- Take time to enjoy things. Do activities that bring you joy, even if they are as simple as breathing in fresh air, taking a warm shower, or lying still for two minutes.
- Practice being thankful. For example, every night before bed, write/draw 3 things that you are thankful for or 3 parts of your day that went well, even if they were small moments
