Upcoming Dates to Remember:

  • September 14 - Foundation Monthly Meeting (PTO Committee) via Zoom
  • September 15 - Minimum Day - Staff Development - Dismissal @ 1:06 p.m.

Principals Update:

Hello Vista Academy Families,

This Wednesday is a minimum day for staff development. Students will be dismissed at 1:06pm.

Now entering our fourth week of the 21-22 school year, the students are happy and loving being back on campus. They are getting in the routines of staying with their cohorts, wearing masks indoors and learning to navigate the speciality classes. We are so excited to add Visual Art this coming week to our specialty schedule. Please work with your child at home and encourage full participation and best effort not just in their regular classrooms but also in the arts classes.

We also will be having our first Foundation Meeting this coming Tuesday evening from 5:30 - 7:00 via zoom. We still have a few open positions for this school year. If you would like to get involved and want to join the meeting, please reach out to Principal Walker at benjiewalker@vistausd.org , and she will share the ZOOM link for the meeting.

Reminder - Water Bottles & Face Masks:

Please remember to send your students with a water bottle and a clean mask everyday. We have filling stations throughout campus and want to ensure everyone stays safe and hydrated during warmer weather. If you would like to donate a case of water to your class or the front office we would greatly appreciate it.

Morning Drop-Off:

There is no supervision prior to 7:45 a.m. If you need to drop off your student prior, please inquire about enrolling them in the AM-PM program. (760-758-7204 - Dora Nunez)

Friendly Reminder:

We are continuing to see situations where cars are not respecting families who walk. Please drive carefully when in our parking lot, this included the entrance and exit as well as the stop sign located on California Avenue. Please park in designated areas only! PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN THE CAL AVENUE PARKING LOT OR IN PARKING LOTS OF BUSINESSES ACROSS THE STREETS. Cars who are not following parking regulations are subject to being towed. Thanks for your cooperation.

Reminder - School Procedures:

Please read the documents below for a friendly reminder in regards to students who arrive late or leave early.

Health & Safety Important Information:

We all need to work together to keep all of our students safe. If you or your family is under quarantine orders through the county, please STAY HOME and do not come into a school office to advise your child is absent. We will return your call as soon as possible.

COVID-19 Decision Tree:

The COVID Decision Tree has been updated 8/12/21 and is here in ENGLISH, SPANISH. The update also includes the latest information regarding quarantine options for persons exposed to COVID-19.

We will continue to ensure that safety is a top priority at Vista Academy. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.

COVID-19 Notification Process Update:

We will no longer be notifying the entire school with COVID notification letters and phone messages. Only classes with direct exposure or close contacts to a COVID-19 positive will be notified. We will provide a weekly update on the number of new cases each week in this update in the health and safety section. For this past week we had 1 COVID-19 case impacting our campus.

Please refer to Dr. Doyle’s latest community update and daily updates on districtwide COVID-19 cases will be listed by school on the COVID dashboard.
