LMS Open Houses

Please note the following regarding the Open House date and times


  • 7th Grade students are invited to their open house on Monday, August 22nd from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.;
  • 8th Graders are invited to attend from 10:15 a.m.to 11:15 a.m. also on Monday, August 22nd; finally
  • 6th Grade students ONLY are invited to attend open house from 6 – 8 p.m. on Monday, August 22nd. A 6th Grade specific agenda is attached as well as posted online.


All schedules are now available online via HAC. If you do not see your child's schedule, please stop by the Main Office during the grade specific Open House.

Attached is information specific to 6th Grade Open House only. Please read it carefully as the format is different from previous years. We look forward to seeing you at your specified time as noted in the attached letter.

Acting 7th Grade Assistant Principal

This communication is to make you aware that Ms. Shannon Morris has transferred from Assistant Principal at Leonardtown Middle School to Assistant Principal at Leonardtown High School. We wish her well as she begins this new journey. We understand that you might have some concerns about the impact that changing administrators at this time in the school year might have on your student. Please be assured that we are doing everything we can to minimize the impact on your child.


We have begun the hiring process and are working closely with the Human Resources department. We hope to fill this position very soon. In the meanwhile, to begin the school year, we are fortunate to have Ms. Kathryn Smith, one of our Teachers in Charge (TIC) to assist with the daily management of the 7th Grade teams. The rest of the administrative team will be working closely with Ms. Smith to provide supports until a new administrator comes on board.

Families must complete the Acceptable Use Policy for SY 22-23. The "Secondary Link" is below. Please note that the link will be used up until September 15th. Students MUST have the form on file to use Google Apps for Education and for Schoology so please make this a top priority as we begin the school year.

7th Grade Vaccinations

The time is NOW!!! Please be reminded that all 7th graders MUST have a record of Tdap and Meningococcal vaccinations on file in the nurse’s office. Your prompt attention to this is greatly appreciated. We will be accepting records via:


  • Email: krrobeson@smcps.org;
  • Fax: 301-475-0237;
  • Mail: 24015 Point Lookout Rd, Leonardtown, MD 20650; or
  • Hand delivery to the nurses during Open House

Revised Discipline Codes

Please note that there have been recent revisions and additions to the SMCPS Code of Conduct. For example, the consequences for "Inappropriate Use of Personal Electronics" now include a Level 4 and Level 5 consequence. This means that "Unauthorized use to include photographing, recording, sharing, and/or publishing inappropriate pictures, videos, or recordings, including fights or other disturbances" may result in out of school suspension.


New disciplinary codes now include "Inappropriate Use of School Issued Electronics." Unauthorized or inappropriate use includes, but is not limited to:

  • Accessing inappropriate or unauthorized websites
  • Misuse of account credentials
  • Disrupting the normal operation of a technology system
  • Sharing devices with unauthorized users
  • Physical damage of the device
  • Creating inappropriate content

Meal Benefits Application

MySchoolBucks

MySchoolBucks is an online payment service that provides a convenient way to pay for school-related purchases by using your credit/debit card or electronic check. Please use this link to sign up for an account if you don't already have one.

Schoology New Parent/Guardian Provisioning

New Schoology parent/guardian accounts will be created in the coming weeks. SMCPS hope to have accounts created and parents/guardians connected to their students in Schoology by Friday, September 2nd. Parents that have difficulty accessing their pre-existing accounts should contact schoology@smcps.org and include the student's name and ID number for troubleshooting.

Admission into Regular Season SMAC Sporting Events

Please see the important changes to the SMAC Constitution related to the removal of the added benefit of free admission for one additional guest for a county employee and the increased admission fee beginning in SY 23.
