4th Grade News: March 7th, 2014
Mrs. Gibson's Class
ISTEP will be given NEXT WEEK, March 11—21. We will be testing March 11, 12 and 13. Make-ups will be given the following days. This portion of the test will involve writing, reading, math problem solving, and science. There will be another portion of ISTEP at the end of April.
To set your child up for success on testing days, please make sure they get plenty of sleep and have a good breakfast in the morning. **The breakfast line will stay open in our cafeteria until 9 am on testing days, if your child would prefer to eat at school those mornings. NO DEVICES WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE CLASSROOM DURING ISTEP TESTING, SO THEY SHOULDN'T COME TO SCHOOL TUESDAY THROUGH THURSDAY NEXT WEEK.

Read Across America
On Monday, we spent our Read Across America Day...READING! We had 2 parents that were able to come in to share a book with us. Thank you Mrs. Sales and Mrs. Tucker!
This group actually got the 2nd fastest time, but the group with the fastest time didn't meet the sailboat requirements. We learned how to order decimals in the process as well!!!
One of the sailboats being timed. Each group got to time their boat 3 times. The best time of the 3 was the one that was compared against the other boats.
