11/14/14

Important Dates:

11/20: Mid-Terms Sent Home
11/20: Fall Parties
11/25: Field Trip
11/26-11/28 No School (Thanksgiving Break)

Last Week:

Math: Students have now learned how to solve multiplication problems and division problems that include 0,1,2 and 10. We want them to be "fluent" with these facts.

Writing: Students have drafted their memoir.

Reading: Students have taken a closer look at what makes characters act the way they do. We have also discussed what the "theme" or the message of a story is. Students have continued to use examples of Traditional Literature to explore these reading strategies.

This Week:

Math: Students are learning the properties of multiplication. These include the commutative property, identity property, associative property and distributive property of multiplication. I will send more resources and practice options as we get more into each property.

Writing: We will be working on revising our writing pieces. Student will learn how to "show" the reader what they were feeling during the moment in their memoir instead of just "telling" them how they felt.

Reading: Students will begin comparing and contrasting different Fairy Tales.
