From the Principal's Desk...
Parents and Guardians,
I hope everyone was able to relax and unwind during the Thanksgiving Break! After today, we only have 14 more school days until Christmas Break, and I am sure they will go by quickly. Here is a list of a couple of our upcoming events that will take place at school. Many of these activities are explained in more detail below.
12/6 - Mercy McAuley’s Vocal Ensemble will be performing at St. John’s
12/6 - Junior High Poinsettia pick up
12/7 - PTO Vendor Pop-up night
12/13 - Christmas Concert for Grades 4-5
12/14 - 1st Reconciliation
12/20 - Kindergarten Pageant
Lastly, I wanted to remind parents to read the Student Handbook if you are planning a vacation during the school year. Multiple teachers have approached me with concerns about students missing days due to a scheduled vacation. If you intend to take a vacation during the school year, it must be approved at least one week prior to the trip. If you have any questions after reading the handbook, please contact me at cweinheimer@stjohnsdrschool.org.
Thanks and have a great night!
Sincerely,
Courtney Weinheimer

Students were bursting with excitement to bring home the Christmas gifts they selected for their families at our annual PTO Santa Shop! Thank you to our incredible Santa Shop elves, Laura Monti, Nikki Middleswarth and Betsey Miyahara, for shopping 'til they dropped all year long to make this special event possible and to all the volunteers who helped to create a magical shopping experience for our students. Also, a special thank you to the seventh and eighth grade students who helped assist the younger grades with their shopping.
Second graders and their Spanish Blue Jay buddies learned about Christmas in Mexico and made poinsettia ornaments.
