A Note From the Principal
This month students are earning Spartan Heads for appropriate behavior in the lunchroom to earn a special lunch with Mrs. Westlund. 3rd grade met their goal last week and 1st grade is getting so close. We have such respectful, responsible and safe kids!
We only have a few more days of learning for the 2022 calendar year but are looking forward to all the learning that will happen in 2023.
I hope you and your family have a blessed holiday season!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Westlund
Winter Reminders
As the weather continues to drop and we prepare for the potential of snow, please keep the following in mind:
- Recess is held outdoors as long as the real feel is 10° or higher.
- Students can ALWAYS use encouragement to wear their coats, gloves, and hats outside.
- It's a good idea to write your child's name in his/her personal belongings.
- When snow begins to fall, students will need boots and snow pants to go off of the concrete during recess.

Automatic Withdrawal for Preschool Wrap-Around Fees
Beginning January 2023, the District is offering preschool fees being paid via ACH. For those opting not to use ACH, tuition can continue to be paid through RevTrak, cash/check.
Please complete the information below to enroll in tuition being paid by you through ACH. ACH will be offered at no cost. However, in the event an ACH transaction is returned to the District, any/all applicable fees will be accessed on the account holder and not Solon Community School District.
ACH will occur the 1st of each month. Should the 1st fall on a weekend or holiday, ACH will occur the next available business day.
If you would prefer to fill out the information on paper and please stop in the Lakeview Office for a form.
Enrollment for January withdrawal is due at Dec. 15th.
LIL' XMAS SHOPPE
We are excited to announce the The Lil' Xmas Shoppe will return to Lakeview this year, on December 19th and 20th! Gently used trinkets, jewelry, toys, games, and treasures will be collected from the community and set up in the Shoppe. All PreK through 3rd grade students are invited to shop for family members with a suggested donation of $1 per gift. Volunteers will help children shop and wrap their special treasures! All proceeds are donated to local organizations who help those in need. Last year we raised $3,600 which was donated to the Solon Food Pantry, Solon Senior Support, and the School Nurses to help students and families. More information will come home in December, but if you would like to start collecting items to donate, contact Mollie, McKenzie, or Kayla to arrange a drop off. The shoppe will take place AT LAKEVIEW, but donations can be dropped off at the Solon Community center during normal hours.

STUDENT DROP OFF
Now that we are all in the routine of school we want our students to be independent as much as possible. This means dropping your students off at the door and telling them goodbye before they enter the building. This helps with amount of adults in the hallways as well as building your child's independence. Students should enter the BASP doors if being dropped off or the back bus doors if riding the bus.
PK students will still need to be walked in/signed in by parents. This does not change. However, older siblings should be independent in going to their arrival location.
