December 2015
Our Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) is Destiny Quest
Our ebook and audio book collection
The new app is called BryteWave™ K-12 Edition. I would recommend deleting the old Follett Reader and Brytewave apps before installing the new app. As soon as students are able to download the app, I'm available to come to your class and give a tutorial to your students.
You may also access ebooks & audio books through any browser by going to gofollett.com. Follow the directions below to get started:
In the location search bar, select your state.
In the school field, type in the few first letters of your school's name. Make sure to select the correct school. Type in your network username and password.
It will then take you to the Universal Search home page.
Log in and start your search for a good book!
*Again, if you'd like for me to present a tutorial for your class, just send me an email.
*As always, if you need ANY help with this service whatsoever, please let me know and I will be more than happy to help.
The Six Flags Read to Succeed Program
Classroom teachers, kindly consider taking advantage of the Six Flags Read to Succeed Program. It is a free, reading incentive program for students to earn a six flags ticket for completing 6 hours of reading. Teachers who turn in at least 1 student's completed log online will also receive a free ticket. Click here for your copy of a student log. Here is one in Spanish. Go to this link to login and create a teacher profile and profiles for your students (use Elizabeth Fisanick as the coordinator for the program). Parent materials are available in English and Spanish through your account. Please turn in all copies of the reading logs online by March 1st, 2016. Follow on Twitter: @sixflagsreading

What's new in the library?
First, signage with graphic images have been placed in the, somewhat arduous, area of nonfiction books in an effort to make locating books less challenging for students and staff. Second, "plushies" have been put in the everybody section, on the shelf above the books, to help our "littles" find their favorites, such as Dr. Seuss, Pete the Cat, Pigeon, etc. Third, the cumbersome study carrels were removed to create more space in our area. Fourth, if you haven't already noticed, the professional materials were moved over by the circulation desk. Finally, the nicest change of all is that we have hired Jr. Librarians to work in the library! Fourth and Fifth graders filled out applications and have begun to help with library duties during their lunch or recess time. They will work for a couple of weeks and then new Jr. Librarians will be selected (I want to give everyone a chance who filled out an application). There were so very many applicants!
