Hiawatha Elementary

Week of September 17th

Morning Drop Off

Students can get dropped off at 7:30 AM as long as they have work to do or a book to read. We will also continue the walk and talk fitness walking before school. No students are allowed to be on the playground until 8:20 when there is staff supervision.

Student Lunches

To ensure that all lunches make it to your student(s) prior to their lunch, please try to make all attempts to get the lunches in the box with the students name clearly labeled at the main office by 11:15 AM.

Thank you!

We wanted to let you know Chocolate milk will be available at Berwyn South School District 100 as of September 12th 2018. After research and review, it was discovered that having chocolate milk accessible to students increased their overall intake of milk. Chocolate milk contains the same nine essential nutrients that are vital to growth and development as white milk, but is more acceptable by students. We want to provide the students with an enjoyable, nutrient rich beverage to go along with their meal, over a high sugar sports drink. Chocolate milk has properties that are both beneficial for the development and enjoyment of the students during their breaks from the classroom activities.

After School Clubs

Dismissal Procedures

  • Students will be dismissed at 3:00 p.m. to the same classroom lines they line up at in the morning.
  • If your child is attending the YMCA Aftercare or the Berwyn Rec Aftercare, they will line up in our building to be dismissed to the staff members of the aftercare.
  • If you are picking up your child by car, please read carefully the directions for Parent Pick Up. Your child will be dismissed from the door on East Ave labeled 7W (closest to East Ave and 26th Street). You can pull up and stop to pick up your child. You may NOT park in this area, if your child is NOT outside you will need to circle around the block. We appreciate your attention to this in order to keep traffic moving and keep our students safe.
