For the Parents and Patrons of Fulton Public Schools
A message from the Superintendent
August 17, 2015
Dear Parents and Patrons,
Wednesday, August 19, 2015 is the start of our new school year. We are expecting approximately 2,315 students this year, in Pre-school through Grade 12. Of this number, 1,263 are eligible bus riders. Students at all grade levels have the option to eat breakfast and lunch at school; however, the elementary ‘breakfast in the classroom program’, offering a free breakfast to each elementary student, is expected to serve approximately 879 students.
All school staff including faculty, secretaries, nurses, maintenance, custodial staff, food service staff and bus drivers have been preparing for your student(s) arrival on Wednesday, August 19th. Buildings sparkle, supplies are in place, buses are fueled and teachers have first day activities ready to go. Please note the school hours listed below as we have adjusted times to better fit with school activities and streamline transportation.
Since Tuesday, August 11, 2015 faculty members have been in buildings, preparing for the new year, reviewing prior activities and learning new strategies to benefit your student(s). This year we welcome 39 new faculty members joining FPS, bringing a variety of experiences that will benefit the community.
Please help your student(s) prepare for the first and following days of school. Each needs a good night’s sleep, weather appropriate clothing, a positive attitude and the support to get to school on time ready to learn!
WE, your FPS faculty and staff, are looking forward to a tremendous school year. Take a few minutes this week to visit your student(s) school. Please join us in helping your student(s) have a great year, also!
My very best regards,
Jacque A. Cowherd, Ed.D.

Hornet Camp and Hornets Helping Hornets
The freshmen at Fulton High School received the same treatment as the 6th Graders at FMS. Hornets Helping Hornets is a program for freshmen only. They had a morning of orientation to the new building and meeting their classmates that also included receiving their schedules and Chrome Books, meeting teachers and finding their lockers.
