- The Research tool has been replaced by the Explore tool in Draw and Slides. It is also available in Sheets. Explore allows you to do the same searches, but also allows you to search from your Drive, and offers formatting suggestions.
- The Research tool is still available in Docs.
- Forms has prediction capabilities where it will predict what you might want your answer choices to be and whether it should be a multiple choice or check box question.
- Action items: if you tag a colleague in a comment on a collaborative doc, they will see that they have an action item and the doc will be highlighted when they open their drive.
November Topic 1: Engagement and Accountability with Padlet
Padlet is a great option when you pose a higher level essential question that doesn't have just one correct answer.
Here is a folder of Padlet wall templates (You must be signed into Google and you must go to File - Make a Copy to use these): https://goo.gl/4hMWYA
20 Useful Ways to Use Padlet Now: https://goo.gl/Fg9AxS
Since Padlets are accessible via a link (which can remain private), they are great for collaboration. Below is an example of a 4th grade class collaborating with a 7th grade class on the writing process.
November Topic 2: Engagement and Accountability with Nearpod
Nearpod also has new features that will take your lessons to the next level, including virtual reality trips to locations all over the world, 3-D objects (AWESOME science 3-D objects), and interactive Sway presentations.
The best part about Nearpod is being able to hold students accountable during the lesson through the activities and monitoring what students understand in real-time - so you can make adjustments in the moment.
