Principal's Message

Hello Stetson Families,

I cannot believe another month has passed us by. Looking forward to seeing the snow melt away and spring flowers bloom. A lot of change is coming our way this month. Please be sure to read all emails from Dr. Scanlon and me about the next phase of our reopening school plan.

Thank you to all students and parents for completing your course selections for the 21-22 school year. Please remember that if you would like to make a change to the recommendation, please complete THIS FORM by MARCH 25. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to your grade level counselor or view the course selection information on our Stetson website.

We appreciate your support and encouragement to help our students reach their maximum potential. KEEP IT UP! If you should have any further questions, please feel free to reach out to me to discuss them in more detail.

Hybrid Block schedule

Thanks for your time and attention in reading this week's edition!

Have a great weekend,

Big picture
Black History Month Assembly will be brought to our Stetson community virtually this year. This year will be Stetson's 20th year celebrating Black History through our student-driven performance. The theme this year is "From Struggle to Strength". We hope our audience enjoys learning about prominent African Americans whose unparalleled contribution to the medical field, science, technology, engineering, and math we continue to celebrate today. We will post our assembly on our website after the students view it next week in advisory class. I am very proud of the student volunteers that helped create this year's production. We take pride in performing this event each year for our Stetson community.

  • Respect their concerns--show them you are listening!
  • Encourage Ownership & Effort. Give detailed, genuine praise for their efforts, as they will produce great results.
  • Set up for Success by making a place to work, a routine to follow, and expectations daily.
  • Reach out your student’s counselor with any concerns or questions.

Eligibility Information for extra curricular school sponsored activities

We are very excited about resuming our spring sports program next week. Now that we have begun, we must also implement the district’s extracurricular eligibility policy. See the policy by clicking the link here http://go.boarddocs.com/pa/wche/Board.nsf/goto?open&id=9Z3GMN447E5E Students who are failing 2 or more core subjects or 1 core subject and 2 or more Unified Arts classes, will be considered ineligible to participate in sports or activities the FOLLOWING week. You will receive notice of this via email.

PTO

Our staff would like to thank the PTO for a fabulous luncheon provided on February 12th. We appreciate the community support.

Reminder for our Car line pick up

We are exhibiting a large volume of cars at pick-up and drop-off times. We are asking our parents to be patient with our pick-up process in the afternoon. Upon entering our complex, please proceed to Starkweather Elementary School and turn around toward our parking lot. This helps our line expand onto our property rather than blocking the entrance for our busses trying to enter coming from 202. The vehicles must pull all the way around the bend to help the flow of traffic. Students are not permitted to walk through our parking lots, please do not park and expect your child to cross through moving traffic to get to the car. Thank you for cooperating with our traffic procedures. We enjoy seeing your smiles, waves, and family dogs!
