Heritage Monthly Newsletter
March 2023
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear Heritage Families,
March is here, which means spring is right around the corner! We had a fantastic February at Heritage and cannot believe March 24th marks the end of our 3rd grading period. Our students have been working hard and building a positive community at Heritage.
Take a look at what we have in store for March! Enjoy a nightly conversation starter with your child using our PBIS calendar, celebrate your pet and other pets in our community with student council's newest endeavor and celebrate your child's positivity. Below you will find more information on those items and much, much more.
Thank you for being a partner with us in your child's education. We are growing awesome people together!
Notes From the Office
Preparation for Next School Year
Principals K-5 do not accept requests for specific teachers. However, we take such great pride in placing students in collaboration with the other building principals, the current classroom teacher, and other school staff. It is a very time consuming process and we truly look at each individual child when considering placement for the next grade level. While we do not always get this perfect, we do try our best to place students in the most optimal learning environment with the information we have. We welcome communication about certain factors we should be aware of in regards to your child, but discourage individual requests. We appreciate your trust in our team with this very important process that we value so much.
Spring Pictures
Ripcho Studies will be at Heritage on Thursday, March 9th for spring picture day. Spring pictures are a "proof first" program where you are able to look at, and approve your child's pictures online before you purchase anything. Please contact Ripcho Studios with any questions. http://www.ripchostudio.com/
Car Rider Reminders
Please do not stop in front of the main doors in the morning or afternoon car line if there is space ahead of you in the line. Please pull up as far as you can so your child can walk on the sidewalk. Also be reminded that Bentley Dr. is utilized by many students as they walk to and from school. Please be sure to drive the speed limit and with caution. Thank you for your continued support to make sure our processes are safe and efficient!
Personal Mobile Devices
As a reminder smart watches are not an allowable accessory at Heritage. Students may have a cell phone, but it must remain stowed in their lockers at all times during the school day. Please see the below excerpt from our student handbook, which can be found on our website, concerning personal mobile devices at Heritage:
"Personal gaming devices, video cameras, cameras, laser pens, walkie-talkies, smart watches or distracting technology are not permitted on school grounds or in school buses, unless otherwise noted by the administration. Cellular telephones and music-producing devices may not be accessed during the school day. Cell phones and music producing devices must be stowed in a locker at all other times during the school day. Technology devices may be used for curricular-driven instructional purposes only. Audio or video recording, photographing, and text-messaging are prohibited. The administration may search technology devices “with cause” or reasonable suspicion. Should any of these items become a distraction to or are misused in the school environment, the administration reserves the right to determine authorized and unauthorized utilization throughout the school year."
