Shenandoah School Corporation is excited to offer prekindergarten to our four year olds. Based on Indiana’s Early Learning Development Framework, we aim to provide high quality early learning experiences to prepare children for Kindergarten. Students who attend our prekindergarten will develop solid fundamentals in literacy, math, social emotional skills, as well as strong engagement in learning.
General Information
- Students should be 4 years old for the 2022-2023 school year.
- Students should be fully toilet trained during the daytime by the first day of prekindergarten class.
- The Prekindergarten will operate Monday through Friday from 7:50 am to 2:50 pm. On delay days, the alternate schedule will be 9:50 am-2:50 pm.
- Children with special needs in the classroom may have mild to severe disabilities in one or more areas of development.Speech, occupational, and/or physical therapists work in the classrooms weekly. Your child may be asked to participate in these activities.
- Prekindergarten follows the corporation calendar, which includes snow days and delays.
- Parents may provide transportation or students can ride the bus.
- Regular attendance is required for the entire school year. Failure to have good attendance may result in termination from the program.
- Parents will receive information on their child’s overall classroom performance 4 times per year.
- Payments of $50.00 per week (cash, check, or credit card) are due the first school day of each school week. A discounted rate may be available depending on family income.
- $30.00 Non-Refundable registration fee due at time of enrollment
- After school care is available until 6:00 p.m.
- Space is limited to 20 students
Registration and Application
We anticipate getting this information out in the next few weeks. While we understand parents are anxious to get students registered, we would like to have our classroom teacher hired before moving forward with enrollment. More information will be shared via the Corporation social media (Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram), website, and local newspaper.
