The popular Breakfast and Books event will take place on Wed, March 8 in the CCE cafeteria! CCE students are invited to come to school early (anytime between 7-8:30) and bring along a parent, aunt, uncle, cousin, grandparent, or someone else important to them to enjoy some breakfast and hot coffee in the school cafeteria and then check out the book fair in the library!

Dear 6th Grade Parents

Previously we scheduled the 6th grade 'Continuation' pictures on Thursday, March 23rd. We have now scheduled the 6th grade 'Continuation' Pictures on Wednesday, March 22nd. This will be the same day as the Spring Group Class Pictures and new student individual pictures. Definitely makes more sense to have them on the same day.

Please try to have your 6th grade student at school on March 22nd. There will not be a retake picture day. These 6th Grade individual 'Continuation' pictures will be available not only to purchase (order forms will go out on March 9th) but the picture will also be included in your child's 'Continuation' certificate (free of charge) given to them during the 'Continuation' ceremony.

Starting the week after Spring Break I will be hosting the last Art Club session for the school year. Here are the details...

• For now, Art Club will only be for 6th-2nd graders
• All meetings will start in the art room AFTER SCHOOL promptly from 3:30-4:30pm
• Please pick your student up on time. I will release them outside the garden doors.

2nd & 3rd grades:

• Will be after school for 1 hour on TUESDAYS from 3:30-4:30pm
• $30 a student for a 6 week session. This will include all art materials needed. You can register on MySchoolBucks
• I will max out this group to 25 students, so please register ASAP if you want to join
• The meeting dates are: Mar. 21st, Mar. 28th, Apr. 4th, Apr. 11th, Apr. 18th, April 25th

The CCE School Counselor will be running small groups for 3rd-6th graders who are struggling with anxiety. The "FACE Your Fears" curriculum will help students learn to understand and overcome their anxiety. If your student's social, family, or academic life is being negatively impacted by anxiety, please fill out the interest form linked below. Your child would need to be available for 6 weeks of the group starting the week of March 27th.

We are always looking for parent volunteer help with our garden and composting efforts at CCE. Coyote Creek Physical Education is partnering with the American Heart Association (AHA) by participating in the Kids Heart Challenge. Students will be learning to make healthy choices, the importance of staying physically active and helping families affected by heart defects. From there, work to complete Finn's Mission to help us save lives. Students and families may contribute donations for the CCE Kids Heart Challenge from February 20-March 10, online by Friday, March 10th. A parent letter will be coming home the week of February 20th. With so many families continuing to struggle in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, I wanted to remind you that Clothes To Kids of Denver is here to help. In case you aren’t familiar with us, we provide every shopper with 5 outfits, 1 coat, 1 pair of shoes, 1 bra (optional) and 5 pairs each of new underwear and new socks, all for FREE in a welcoming store-like setting. Students ages 3-21 (enrolled in preschool-12th grade or pursuing a GED) can visit every four months as long as they meet our basic eligibility requirements.

Families wishing to make a shopping appointment should call us at 720-379-4630 or email us at appointment@clothestokidsdenver.org. For families who would prefer a contactless option, we are offering wardrobes via Curbside Service. This option enables parents and caregivers to request a wardrobe for any student in need, and our staff will shop on their behalf. The Pop Tab Recycling Program is a fundraising project to support Ronald McDonald House Charities of Denver. The Ronald McDonald Houses in Denver and Aurora serve as a home away from home for many families whose children are seriously ill and are undergoing treatment at a local hospital.

How the program works

Aluminum beverage can tabs are collected and sold for cash. Also tabs from soup, tuna, and fruit etc. cans can be collected.

Please collect your tabs and bring them to the main office. Thank you so very much for helping!

Thank you to the CCE families who are also Longmont Dairy customers who continue to donate their milk caps (CCE receives money from the Dairy when we turn them in.) Please give your caps to your kids to give to their teachers or hand them to any staff member at drop off or pick up.

Did you know that CCE earned $8k through the King Soopers Community Rewards program last year?! Even more amazing is that this huge total was generated by only having 150 families signed up and identifiying CCE as the nonprofit organization that receives the benefits when they shop! Imagine how much we could raise if we had more participation? To accomplish that goal we're introducing a King Soopers Contest!

A few times during the school year the PTO will have a drawing for a $25 King Soopers gift card. To be eligible to win all you have to do is link your King Soopers account to Coyote Creek PTO and email a screen shot showing your enrollment!

Here's how to do it:

• Go to the app, click on the three lines icon on the upper right corner
