Panui Week 5 Term 2
Waikawa Bay School Thursday 3rd June 2021
Principal's Message
GREETINGS TO EVERYONE
Dear Parents/Caregivers,
Tēnā koutou
Learning Conferences: Tuesday 6th of July, 1.30 to 7pm
The teaching staff are very busy preparing for the Learning Conferences which will be held on July 6th from 1.30pm until 7pm.
The conferences will follow the same format as last year where the students will lead the discussions on their learning achievements and progress to meeting their goals. As the students lead these conferences, there will be no set times. The teachers will be present and help and contribute where needed. There will be a slightly different format for the junior classes.
To cater for all parents the learning conferences will run from 1.30pm until 7pm. This means school will finish at 1pm Tuesday the 6th of July.
Atarangi: Morning Sky.
On Wednesday the 7th of July the school will be travelling into Blenheim to see the Bohally production of Atarangi: Morning Sky, this will be performed at the ASB Theatre.
Atarangi is a musical production that involves over 150 students onstage. The main theme of the show is belonging, told through the experiences of a young Maori school girl.
This will be a great opportunity for our children to see a live show involving so many performers in the Theatre.
Tomorrow will hopefully be the end of the road works by our school, as the road will be sealed. It has been a very long and at times inconvenient process, but the end result is fantastic, giving more parking space and a proper footpath on the side of the road.
Thank you for your support
Enjoy the weekend

This was the ASB Super Saver Award for courage and quick thinking when he saved his younger sister from a near drowning incident. We are so incredibly proud of Riley and pleased that he was recognised for his bravery. He definitely suits his new cape!

Would you like to get your child's name embroidered on their school fleece?
Pretty Things Embroidery & Design
As we are experiencing cooler mornings school fleeces are often misplaced when children are out on the playground or when it gets warmer throughout the day. Fleeces are often lost and in many cases have to be replaced.
Pretty Things Embroidery & Design are offering a great service: school sweatshirts/ polar fleeces professionally embroidered with children's initials, names and/or last names on the back (bottom). This will be very helpful in ensuring your child's fleece is always easily identifiable.
The cost of embroidery per fleece is $5 regardless of the number of letters and is much more cost effective than purchasing a new fleece when lost.
