All Star Dash

The All Star Dash date has changed, but our goal is the same - to raise $40,000 and fully fund programs, activities and events supported by the Parent Teacher Club. We also have a new s-t-r-e-t-c-h goal: $8,000 for an artist in residence program. If we meet the goal, we will work again with Mark Brody, who helped us complete this tile mosaic project in 2017.

Please mark your calendar for the All Star Dash set for Friday, October 6. It will be a day of fun, fresh air and activity at the Catlin Gabel track.

It's time to start collecting pledges for the All Star Dash! It is the only major fundraiser for the entire 2023-2024 school year and 100% of the money raised goes directly to OUR school to support OUR kids!

Fundraising goal: $40,000

Special Funding Request: $8,000 (Artist In Residence)

Tax Deductible Donations: Donations are tax deductible. The West TV PTC Tax ID #93-1166559. You can request a receipt for your donation by emailing treasurer@wtvptc.org. A complete list of companies who offer donation matching is available in the school office.

Pledge Online: Follow the simple instructions to set up your online fundraising tracker, send emails to family and friends, and help raise money to support programs at our school!

  1. Visit https://pledgestar.com/westtualatin

  2. Click “Not Registered For This Year’s Event”

  3. Enter your name and email address, then click “Submit”

  4. Follow the instructions on-screen to register students, set up your personal page, and decide who you would like to invite to support your student

  5. When you finish, the system emails pledge requests to your family and friends and allows them to make secure credit card donations online. You get notified each time a pledge is made, and you can track your pledge progress online. Call 1-888-598-7510 if you need help.

Matching: Double your impact! Ask your employer if they match employee donations to non-profit organizations. Here is a list of companies in our community that match donations. Check it out! Your employer is likely on the list and if not, please ask if they match.

How it works:

All students, kindergarten through 5th grade, participate in this fun event on Friday, October 6th. Starting now, students collect donations (flat donation or per lap) with the pledge packet or online using Pledgestar, detailed below. Donations are due October 20.

On the day of the All Star Dash, students choose to walk, jog, or run with their class around the West TV track as many times as they can in 30 minutes. A mile on the track is 4 laps. For those who choose to pledge per lap, kids run on average 8-12 laps. The number of laps completed in 30 minutes will be recorded on a certificate and sent home the next day. Music plays, STAR, the mascot will be there and everyone has a great time getting exercise and raising money to support programs and events our students and teachers love!

Take Action:

  • Spread the word and collect pledges - Encourage your students to collect pledges from friends, family, and neighbors. Use either Pledgestar (online) or the paper pledge sheet, which was sent home with students on Friday, September 8.

  • Double the impact - Check with your employer to see if they match employee donations.

  • Prize procurement - We are seeking items and gift certificates to award our students for their hard work. Please contact donate@wtvptc.org if you can help source prizes or have items to give, which will be awarded at an assembly. (QR Code Below)

  • Volunteer! More information on volunteer opportunities will be shared soon.

Next week, we'll highlight the awards. If you're eager to learn more now, head over to the All Star Dash Event Information and read up!

Pack 198 Cub Scouts

Does your child enjoy being outdoors? Hiking, biking, camping, learning survival skills, taking field trips, building and racing Pinewood derby cars, or making new friends?

If any of these sound like your child I’m sure they would love to be a part of our local West TV Scout Pack 198 (One of the oldest Cub Scout packs in the Portland metro area) We typically gather two to three times per month. Our regular pack meetings are held the third Wednesday of each month in the evening, and then we have an additional fun gathering usually on a weekend. Scouting teaches responsibility, teamwork, leadership, helpfulness, kindness & courtesy through fun adventures with friends!

We will be hosting a no commitment pack meeting on September 13th at Mitchell Park @ 6:00 PM. Feel free to stop by and check it out!

If you’re curious to find out more please send an email to Kyle Becker at kyle.becker19@gmail.com
