The end of the quarter 1 marking period was Friday. Final grades for the first quarter will be posted by Tuesday at 3:30 pm. Please check Infinite Campus. If you need a paper copy, please call the office and we can send one home with your child.
On Thursday we participated in the Great Shakeout and held our earthquake drill. Next week on Tuesday, October 23rd, we will hold a scripted intruder safety drill. The students will participate with their classroom teacher in table talk discussions to prepare them for a lockdown.

Halloween Costume Guidelines
Halloween can be a fun time for students to express their creativity and have fun. While we want to allow students the opportunity to celebrate, we still need maintain a positive and appropriate learning environment. We need your help in ensuring that the costumes worn by our students are school appropriate. With this goal in mind, the following guidelines will assist students in making their costume choices:
- Dress code applies – this includes attire that is modest and respectful
- Students must be identifiable – no masks or concealing make up
- No weapons or imitation weapons
- Gang attire will not be considered an appropriate costume choice
- Students should be sensitive to other people when making their costume choices.
We will be monitoring costumes throughout the day. We understand that there is subjectivity to what some might consider appropriate. Our goal is to ensure learning is still the primary focus of the day. Administration will make the final determination. Students that are deemed inappropriately costumed will be changed out and not permitted to wear the costume at school. Students are encouraged to share their costume plan with an administrator beforehand if they feel it could be questionable.
We appreciate your support in helping us to allow students to celebrate a fun day and still get a quality education.
Bully Prevention Month
We encourage families to make the topic of bullying a regular subject of conversation at the dinner table and on car rides. Share your expectations for how your child interacts with others in person and online.
Students can report bullying behavior in person to any staff member, by email, by using the bully box in the office or through our Text-a-Tip number. When issues are reported using Text-a-Tip, the message goes directly to the phones of our two Assistant Principals Ms. Davis and Mr. Pena, and our Principal Mrs. Krantz.
We will address each an every issue brought to our attention. The names of students who report bullying behavior will be kept confidential.
Our Text-a-Tip number is (661)524-5166.
