Kindergarten Registration Starts Next Week
We look forward to welcoming our new kindergarten students to McKenzie School each August. Last year, we moved the kindergarten registration process up to January to give parents earlier notice of whether their child will be assigned to the morning or afternoon session. All children who turn five by September 1, 2018 must be registered, even those enrolled in the District’s Connecting Kids Preschool or with siblings in D39.
Registration will take place at each elementary school during the following dates and times in January for parents to come in and register their child(ren). The necessary forms are posted online and can be completed in advance.
- Thursday, January 18th: 9:30 am – 6:30 pm
- Friday, January 19th: 8:55 am – 3:15 pm
Parents need to come into school to register their child(ren), bringing along an original copy of their child’s birth certificate and two documents that provide proof of residency (details online).
A lottery will be held on January 25th to determine morning and afternoon kindergarten placements, with parents notified thereafter via email.
