Aiming to Keep You Informed
May 17, 2019
From the Office
We would like to thank everyone who attended our first Innovation Night last night! The students also had the opportunity to present their projects during the day. It was great to see different grade levels hear from one another and interact in settings they may not normally. Congratulations to all the students who worked hard on their Innovation projects! There were some amazing ideas, research and proposals!
Looking ahead to next week, a few reminders:
- Due to 7th and 8th grade field trips on Thursday, there will not be hot lunch. The hot lunch dates will be on Wednesday 5/22 and Friday. 5/24.
- Also, a last reminder that Friday 5/24 previously was scheduled as a non-attendance day; however, students will now be in attendance on 5/24.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Attention Parents of Current 8th Graders: Just a reminder about 9th grade high school physicals
The Illinois State Board of Education in conjunction with the Illinois Department of Public Health require that all students entering 9th grade show proof of receiving mandated vaccinations, in addition to receiving a physical exam, and a dental exam. Please make certain that your child receives the required immunizations and that they are recorded on his/her immunization record. These completed requirements (vaccinations, physical exam, and dental exam) will ensure that your student will be ready to start high school in the fall of 2019.
The physical examination must be recorded on the Illinois Certificate of Child Health Examination form and dated within one year of the first day of school attendance for the 2019-2020 school year. (This form may be used in lieu of a sports physical form, but a sports physical form may not be used for the 9th grade mandated physical!) Physicians have the mandated form in their offices.
Please be aware that physicians’ offices are often busy during the summer months; be certain to book your appointment early!
