Knightly News: EXCEL
Week of March 28th
March Madness--Finish Strong! How to be a Great Team Player!
For sports enthusiasts, March can be an exciting time of the year because of the NCAA March Madness basketball tournament. As we enter the Elite Eight the hype grows and excitement and pride for our teams are bigger than ever. We hope to create the same in our classrooms. This week our teacher newsletter incorporates ways to focus our students on team player attributes. These are important for the classroom and real world. We hope you will ask your child ways to be a team player. We hope as Madness excitement comes to an end that our family and most importantly our student continue to experience excitement at our school and classrooms to keep them to stay active and engaged!
AT SGMS WHERE WE CREATE A CULTURE OF EXCELLENCE!
2022 BOND Information: SGMS can benefit from the BOND! TECHNOLOGY and SAFETY!
-In 2020, the board of commissioners allocated some funds to address specific safety upgrades for schools with critical needs, but the funding only covers a fraction of the problem.
-The 2022 bond will provide safety upgrades for all District schools across the county, not just the ones with immediate safety and security concerns.
--Upgrades include upgrade and upkeep of cameras, digital locks, classroom phones, intercoms, and other security upgrades including safe entry points.
--The funding will also allow for modernized classrooms and wireless technology, providing students and teachers with the tools needed for quality education.
REMINDER CELL PHONES and Air Pods/headphones ARE NOT TO BE OUT OR ON DURING THE SCHOOL DAY! THEY MUST STAY OFF AND IN THE BOOKBAG IF THEY CHOOSE TO BRING TO SCHOOL.
Please note videoing, taking pictures and posting of students or staff violates the Code of Conduct. Please ensure your child is not at risk of consequences for these choices. Social media accounts with school related posts are being reported to law enforcement for posting so please be sure your child is using technology for good not harm
