2023 IAG Conference
Thanks to all who attended the IAG 2023 conference in December! With over a thousand attendees, the energy and excitement over supporting the needs of gifted learners was palpable. Participants were fortunate to attend sessions led by a variety of national and local speakers that focused on practical classroom strategies for addressing both the cognitive and social/affective learning needs of high ability students as well as sessions focusing on cutting edge topics in gifted education such as how to effectively incorporate the use of AI in our classroom. Additionally, participants also enjoyed informal opportunities to connect with other educators in similar school settings to share ideas and strategies they have found beneficial in working with high ability students. The IAG conference committee is already hard at work planning for next year’s conference-please reach out if you have ideas for sessions and speakers that you know our community of educators would benefit from hearing.

Happy New Year!
Did you make a New Year’s Resolution? We did! We at IAG resolve to have another great year in 2024. We resolve to partner with families and educators to support them in their efforts. Do these count? We say yes!
2023 was filled with exciting IAG accomplishments, and 2024 promises to be another amazing year of growth and progress! New podcasts, increased advocacy, more parent support, and additional educator training are all on our agenda. Of course, we can’t forget the students! After all, they are the reason we do what we do!
Certainly, one of the highlights of 2023 was the IAG conference held in December at the JW Marriott. We loved your enthusiasm! We laughed with you at the humorous stories shared by the speakers and applauded with you for the wisdom they shared. You shared concerns for your students, and we were honored to celebrate their successes with you. All in all, it was great to chat with you! Keep reaching out with ideas and questions. We look forward to many opportunities for conversation with you!
Our new website is full of great information, and if you don’t follow our social media accounts, please check us out! Actually, you can be a big help to us by sharing our posts. While our social media footprint is growing, your shares can help others learn about meeting the needs of gifted learners. You can also use the messenger feature of our social media accounts to communicate with us. We have had the chance to help connect some of you with helpful resources. Thank you for that opportunity!
In 2024, perhaps you would like to help us do a bit of the work described above. Maybe you have resolved to participate in advocacy opportunities but aren’t sure where to begin. Maybe you would like a little company as you advocate for someone you love. We can help with that! We have many IAG committees that work tirelessly to educate legislators and support schools and families in their work. We welcome you to join us. We can walk alongside each other on this journey we call 2024!
