ENRICHMENT OPPORTUNITIES
The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) chapter at Texas A&M University
The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) chapter at Texas A&M University invites all high school juniors, seniors, and chaperones interested in learning about the College of Engineering at Texas A&M University to register to our 44th annual SWE High School Conference, "STEM Wars: The Engineer Awakens".
SWE High School Conference will be held on Friday, January 24, 2020, and Saturday, January 25, 2020, at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. This conference has an attendance fee of $50 and allows students to gain a better understanding of the field of engineering and Texas A&M University.
Registration for the Texas A&M SWE High School Conference is available NOW until December 6th at www.swetamu.com/high-school-conference.

Summer Program for High School Seniors - UT MD Anderson School of Health Professions
The School of Health Professions at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center would like to announce that applications open soon for the 60th Annual Carl B. & Florence E. King Foundation High School Summer Program in Biomedical Sciences June 8 – July 24, 2020. Applications available Nov. 1, 2019 – Jan. 16, 2020.
Attached is our informational flyer for potential applicants to the program (current seniors in a Texas public, private, charter, or home school graduating prior to the start of the program). For more information visit our web page (http://bit.ly/SHP-HS-Summer) or contact me directly. In short, we will select 10 students and pair each to mentor under an MD Anderson faculty member. The participants will work during normal business hours in their mentor’s laboratory working on research.
Students will receive a scholarship to help defray expenses during the program. The program does not provide for housing, parking, transportation, food, or otherwise.
No new applications will be taken after January 16. We hope to choose the students by early March.

Apply for the High School Aerospace Scholars
NASA wants today’s students to become the engineers, scientists, researchers and innovators of tomorrow. High School Aerospace Scholars offers a one-of-a-kind experience for Texas high school students to explore the possibilities of a science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) related major or career. The adventure starts this fall with an online course and culminates - for students who earn the opportunity - with an onsite summer experience at NASA's Johnson Space Center.
The Science Ambassador Scholarship

College Information for Students and Parents
Ms. Warren is the College and Career adviser at Dulles. The CCR center will be open for students to seek advisement, work on college applications, apply for scholarships, write and revise college essays, pick up college brochures, and attend college visits. Parents are also welcome to the resource center if they have questions and concerns regarding post secondary education/careers. This is an exciting addition to all Fort Bend ISD campuses, and the college and career adviser is here to help advise both students and parents..
