YMCA 2019-2020 Professional Development opportunities
YMCA is a non-profit organization that provides free or very lost cost preschool and child care training's for professionals like us. If you are interested in finding more about what classes they offer, see their 2019-2020 catalog by clicking on the link provided below.
We all must attend training's like these to meet the professional development hours required to renew our child development permit every 5 years. Once you obtain a child development permit, you should have 21 hours of professional development a year in order to meet the 105 hour requirement due at the end of the 5 year renewal period. A child development permit is a job requirement! Keep all certificates you receive for any training's you attend; the certificates should show the amount of hours you completed. The California Child Care Workforce registry is another way to maintain your PD hours and certificates. The registry is an online portal that stores all this information for you after you create an account. Visit this link to learn more or create an account. https://www.ccala.net/about-workforce-registry/
Let me know if you have any questions!
